soulgrindr: Oh! It's
Actua Soccer. Now i know what we're talking about.
I guess if the US version didn't have real teams & players that makes it much easier to get clearance for.
(though if i'm gonna play retro sports games, i'd rather go REALLY retro and have the original 2d sensi soccer games. )
The actua series actually consisted of quite a few games, so if GOG has access to all of them that'd really boost the Sports genre on here. Actua Golf, Actua Tennis, Actua Ice Hockey. Plus multiple versions of each. the 2/3 versions are a nice step up from the first versions imho.
Note to gog: If you are gonna do some sports games, i'd like to give
ice hockey a spin... ;-)
I remember Gremlin being a badge of
really ok early 3d software. Not amazing, but solid (and all seemed to use the same engine). Be nice to see:
- Fatal Racing. (fun stunts racer)
- Sandwarriors. (fun 3d flying game.. nice original setting)
- Hardwar (interesting but slightly limited elite clone)
- Fragile Allegiance (maybe)
-
Zool + Zool2 pack (fun platformer - was supposed to be a rival for sonic)
and of course:
-
Realms of the Haunting (an awesome 1st person horror adventure)
Realms of the Haunting seems pretty cool and was (like Fragile Alliance and Hardware) published by Interplay.
Will be good to see some other Gremlin titles on GOG.
StingingVelvet: Been really slow since the Tex Murphy games... hopefully a new publisher arrangement is made soon.
I see really good and interesting titles released on GOG recentely, like Ground Control II and Republic: The Revolution. Surely they're (probably) niche and not so old, but still good.
