I can't believe nobody commented on the Screenshots.
Great one Oldski, that's a real easter egg. :D
Unfortunately I remember this series of football games (Actua Soccer, isn't it?) to be pretty awful. The first decent 3D football game was FIFA '98, or ISS Pro (whichever came first).
I got a free copy of this with a bit of hardware years back. It was fun but I'd go for a newer footie game if I was going to buy one. Sports games don't interest me that much in general though - not sure I've ever actually paid for one yet.
I hope this is going to the first of a few Gremlin games. Normality and Realms of the Haunting both deserve a re-release.
Oh! It's Actua Soccer. Now i know what we're talking about.
I guess if the US version didn't have real teams & players that makes it much easier to get clearance for.
(though if i'm gonna play retro sports games, i'd rather go REALLY retro and have the original 2d sensi soccer games. )
The actua series actually consisted of quite a few games, so if GOG has access to all of them that'd really boost the Sports genre on here. Actua Golf, Actua Tennis, Actua Ice Hockey. Plus multiple versions of each. the 2/3 versions are a nice step up from the first versions imho.
Note to gog: If you are gonna do some sports games, i'd like to give ice hockey a spin... ;-)
I remember Gremlin being a badge of really ok early 3d software. Not amazing, but solid (and all seemed to use the same engine). Be nice to see:
- Fatal Racing. (fun stunts racer)
- Sandwarriors. (fun 3d flying game.. nice original setting)
- Hardwar (interesting but slightly limited elite clone)
- Fragile Allegiance (maybe)
- Zool + Zool2 pack (fun platformer - was supposed to be a rival for sonic)
and of course:
- Realms of the Haunting (an awesome 1st person horror adventure)
=D
I'll probably buy this one by the end of the month. I would prefer Striker 96 though...
I wonder why everyone keep mentioning other Gremlin games a possibility.
After all, this game has "Publisher: Interplay" tag, which was around for a looooong time already.
So I don't think we should expect anything breathtaking of it.
Still, this release looks fun. As soon as I have too much money, I'll give it a try.

Which easter egg is that? I had a look through the screenshots and I can't see anything.

Polish goalscorer called Cook, if that rings any bells, also look at the Polish team sheet for some familiar names :)
Good to see a sports game. Let's see a baseball one next time.
Thanks GOG!
Been really slow since the Tex Murphy games... hopefully a new publisher arrangement is made soon.

cristianolopes: Soccer! Too bad I don't care for it at all...

Isn't loving football a legal requirement to live in Brazil? :)

Realms of the Haunting seems pretty cool and was (like Fragile Alliance and Hardware) published by Interplay.
Will be good to see some other Gremlin titles on GOG.

I see really good and interesting titles released on GOG recentely, like Ground Control II and Republic: The Revolution. Surely they're (probably) niche and not so old, but still good.

I'm hedging my bets on there being some really sweet announcements coming around the 1-year anniversary date. It'd only make sense to save the really good stuff until then now.
well i don't think I would like this game but seeing more sports games is good because there are some sports games that i enjoy.
