Oddworld just got Stranger...

We visit the epic world of Abe and Munch to meet a third protagonist of the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue/#all_genres/search/oddworld/]Oddworld universe. Meet the Stranger, a badass bounty hunter. This installment of the series brings us into the spaghetti western setting of Sekto Springs. The main goal of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is to gather enough moolah for a mysterious operation that the Stranger has to go through. To fulfill this you’ll hunt a plethora of villains and criminals which, like in any bounty business, are worth more alive than dead. The Stranger is on the trail of the ultimate bounty that would pay for all of his needs: the last of the Steef, a race of guardian creatures that are purportedly extinct...

As in every Oddworld series game, Stranger’s Wrath is oozing with the signature design of Oddworld Inhabitants polish and it is an unique blend of a first person shooter with a third person action adventure game. Either shoot your way with your trusty firearm or traverse the vast plains of Oddworld. Another example of the Oddworld flair for the bizarre lies in the game's weapons. Stranger, as a professional bounty hunter, has a two-barreled crossbow that uses “live” ammo ;) Live being living and lethal. Choose from 9 different critters to lock and load your weapon and unleash living hell on various Outlaws and criminals. This game features an extensive list of upgrades of Stranger’s equipment, such as the crossbow, the munitions, storage capacity and armor upgrades.

Don’t hold back, check out the Just Add Water remake of the classical Oddworld title from the original Xbox. It’s up for grabs DRM-free on GOG.com for $9.99!

Skystrider: Sending code.

Lexor: Sending +1 rep.

keeveek: Yeah. And these people actually believe they achieved something when they see a "You have sucesfully created a character" popup.
avatar
Lexor: Is there an achievement for that? :o lool
I was speaking in general. But yes, in many games, there are such achievements.

Galimatias: It's the release date of the PC version.
The Xbox version was a 2005 game ;)
I realize that. Thriller saw a 25th anniversary edition release in 2007. It is still an album from 1982.
Ugh, if only I didn't own it on Steam...wishlisting for now.
One of these days GOG will have competitive prices... right?

Kabuto: D2D had the oddbox drm-free for $5. What's your point? Those are sale prices. This regular price is the same as every other dd store's price.
Even with GOG's sales I doubt you'll ever be able to acquire all four of them for $5. $10 at the lowest, and most likely $12ish or so.

CaptainGyro: does this game still run like poop on pc? I remember a lot of people complaining when it first came out
Its OK now but not good, I still think JAW blames ATI for some graphics errors that are clearly in their court. If you're on the fence whether to purchase or not my recommendation is to wait for a sale or a lower price point because while the game might be good the port is bloody rubbish.

That's a consequence of lack of price points meaning no bundles.

Steam vs GOG at regular price: GOG wins easily.

Actually the price points are usually the same when compared game to game. If you want to include 'value added' stuff like the DRM free and wallpapers, you're welcome to do so but just keep in mind many people don't consider those a huge boon.

And yet the amazon game pages are littered with 1 star wah there's drm 'reviews'. The extras I don't care much about either. The drm-free part is enough.

For US customers they are usually the same. For EU customers they are not. For this game I have to pay 9,99€ on Steam and 9,99$ on GOG. It's 4$ cheaper on GOG.

Yeah. Steam lost me as a customer when the introduced the price in Euros without matching the price in dollars . Hear that STEAM??? 1 € does not equal 1 $ !!!!!!! Damn ripoff!!

GOG FTW!!!!!

Valve/Steam doesn't set the prices, the publishers do. Valve does advise the publishers though, and apparently that advice contains 1 € = 1 $
