I wonder about it too, maybe someone at GOG? or someone with a soft spot for retrogaming and retrogamers and a good salary? :P

Mate, if people are taking your codes without even thanking you, you really should stop doing it.

Agreed, I was going to thank him but the code were already redeemed. I know it's a sort of race but you can always drop a "thank you" a second later...
Good game but I already have it on Gamersgate. Maybe if it goes on sale I'll grab it just to have a DRM-free version.
I dont know why poeple loved this so much. After playing battle for wesnoth(which is free) this one didnt seemed to be anything special.
This game seems interesting enough, however, I have quite a few of this type already right now. So I think I'll wait for my well to run a little bit dryer before I scoop this one up.

Customization. While I love Wesnoth, particularly as a streamlined multiplayer game, Fantasy Wars blows it out of the water in terms of customizing an army over the course of a campaign. There are simply far more options, more meaningful options, in Fantasy Wars' levelling system and combat mechanics.
I've never once felt any sort of emotional connection to Generic Elf Hero #43 in Wesnoth, while I've felt more than a few twinges in Fantasy Wars when my carefully trained unit of amphibious marines or elite pikemen get murdered due to my tactical mistakes. The little perks from leveling mean a lot in Fantasy Wars.

I also found it somewhat rude to just grab the code and leave. It can't even said "Maybe who took the code doesn't read the forum", because he/she found the code here. Even if he/she is a lurker, they could post a 'thank you' and go back in the shadows.

I got it from NewEgg for the same price. Of course, the box version comes with complementary, optical drive breaking, DRM. Will be getting this one when my money is right again.
Something has caused me to dismiss this one whenever I've seen it in the past.
I'll probably read up on it a bit more now I know it is a turn based strategy game, guess I've just assumed it was more twitch based for some reason.

Same. But once GOG gets the whole lot, I'll probably buy 'em all in a pack deal.

Battle for Wesnoth is awful, it relies too much on luck and has no long-range attacks

Battle for Wesnoth is great. I prefered it over Fantasy Wars but YMMV. I understand people not liking the "lucky" part.
As far as I am concerned for "luck", it is a very old debate but you have to manage luck in Battle for Wesnoth : prepare escape routes and / or reserve units in case you are unlucky for instance, and don't throw you super elite troops alone. Overall, luck evens out. As such, I find it more strategical than many other games where you must just be better tactically to win the skirmishes as they come.
BfW is one of the very rare games in which I always keep a reserve. I don't need a reserve in PG or FW, I know too accurately the outcomes of a battle.
Glad to finally see this one without DRM, but I've got an exam tomorrow...

And the trend of half-naked women on the promo pictures continues :p
I mean, I enjoy the female form as much as the next man, but it's getting a little predictable...
