You are Ten, a young boy who just happens to be the key to saving the balance of the universe. You are the Bearer of Light, sent on a journey to Shambhala to face the Bearer of Dark so that the equilibrium will be restored to the world. Your base of operations is a ship in the mountains of Tibet, from which you travel between different locations and different times on your quest to restore the road to Shambhala.

Adventure fans rejoice, the second game in the Atlantis series takes everything the original had right and adds to it a stunning variety of characters and settings. You can not only explore the mystical civilization of Atlantis but also visit… Well we’re not going to spoil anything. You’ll have to find out for yourself ;) Cryo Interactive’s amazing graphics don’t disappoint and the full 3D panning environment immerses you completely in the mystic world of ancient civilizations. Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis features one of the best soundtracks in the genre. It is a mixture of the many cultures in which the game is set. The superb graphics and the fantastic soundtrack wouldn’t make an awesome game on their own, which is why the puzzles are a mixture of logical, inventory based puzzles and more. The difficulty of the riddles is varied (and yes there are some tough ones) but the beautiful cut scenes reward you nicely once you think your way through.

Without further ado, Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for only $9.99 with the manual, custom wallpapers, and the original soundtrack!

Zeewolf: My guess is that at $9.99 this will be one of the poorest selling games ever on GOG.
Hopefully the developers see this because it's so true, this will sell so little at that price, they are just being greedy.

Whoever this is deserves to live a long and fulfilling life. Thank you very much, the girlfriend is a big fan of this series, she'll be very happy with this.
Wow, I've never seen such a thoroughly negative response to a new release. Never played this game, I guess it's one to skip.

Good catch, that's very interesting.

spindown: Good catch, that's very interesting.
The other option could be: wishing well is "us", as we can not pm ourselves :D

liquidsnakehpks: the game story is awesome[ any adventure game that is about Atlantis is awesome] and the atmosphere is good, like i said playing the game is extremely difficult, you could get stuck for weeks, just cause you could not find a DAMN DIFFERENT colored block, in a HUGE temple that has like 8 rooms[sorry for the spoiler], could make you rage quit and shift delete the game
...if you play the game just for the story, you will need the help of a walk-through thought the game, not sure if that is fun..

if you are in for the story, buy it with joy. I am curious to see how the game will run :D the cd version had tons of issue running on windows xp, gog magic should have solved those problems :D

know that the story is not fully complete, since its a series of Atlantis games, each one is different, some take place after the previous one http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/cryos-atlantis-series
the only game in the series, i loved a lot is not yet released here, hope it comes here someday

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I know using a walkthrough can ruin the fun. Usually I try to figure things out myself, but if I run into problems, I simply don't have the time or patience anymore to re-visit everything. Some games seem to try to confuse the player on purpose, while others even clean out your inventory at certain points to reduce "clutter" and generally help rather than thwart your progress - I definitely prefer the latter.

The way I see it, it's not really a game but a story, when the game can be completed successfully every time by using the exact same sequence of mouse movements and clicks, and/or can only be completed as long as those moves/clicks are performed (some optional dialog, usually). Of course, on a smaller scale, the same can be said for puzzles, which - if they are logical - are something I prefer to solve on my own, rather than use a walkthrough for - it's the silly reasons for notr being able to advance the story further that I really don't like.

Many years ago my brother and I played a text adventure game called 'The Hobbit' on his ZX Spectrum (or was it the C64?). We were literally stuck for days because we couldn't find the correct wording - we knew what ought to be done, but we simply didn't have the vocabulary, or rather, the patience to try all possible combinations and their permutations. We got it right in the end, but that 'snag' really put a damper on the whole experience, and I've been kind of allergic to this type of 'unrelated showstoppers'. Being blocked by a dragon is OK - I can deal with that - being blocked by technicalities like problems with the interface, I deal with - badly.

Um, I'll stop ranting now..

I think I'll pass on the two Atlantis games already on here - for the time being, at least.

Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm, but you cannot PM someone who blocked that option in Account settings.
So no, that doesn't make thewishingwell automatically one of the team.

Thing is even those who disabled PMs did so after finding out about it and as I recall the earliest most did so was the day after finding out about the feature whereas Wishingwell was PM blocked from near right after PMs BECAME AVAILABLE.

I sir resent that! I am no big black hole that people cast coins down to make wishes come true. I am not a gaping maw that swallows all that is thrown into it. I am not a empty hole from whence dreams come true! Have at thee!
;p
Truly, GOG does rule with their(?) wishing well and their gleeful silence at spurious speculation :)

EDIT: On that note if the wishing well was a GOG 'plant' wouldn't it be from Poland? :P

That is not a rule.
Oh I know ;)
I was just adding to the spurious speculation. Whoever the wishing well is, I think they are great to give away games like they do...I just thought the whole conversation needed a splice of my senseless humor...and sir....if you think I have forgotten you calling "Us" a big gaping hole, you are mistaken. I will await you at your most earliest convience, for our most epic duel. In the park. Under yon boughs. By the well...The well that is most definetly not "us"! ;-p
:D
Well, whatever anyone says. I say 'hell yeah, I'm buying this'. ^^ Negativity be damned, I love these games
