You are Ten, a young boy who just happens to be the key to saving the balance of the universe. You are the Bearer of Light, sent on a journey to Shambhala to face the Bearer of Dark so that the equilibrium will be restored to the world. Your base of operations is a ship in the mountains of Tibet, from which you travel between different locations and different times on your quest to restore the road to Shambhala.

Adventure fans rejoice, the second game in the Atlantis series takes everything the original had right and adds to it a stunning variety of characters and settings. You can not only explore the mystical civilization of Atlantis but also visit… Well we’re not going to spoil anything. You’ll have to find out for yourself ;) Cryo Interactive’s amazing graphics don’t disappoint and the full 3D panning environment immerses you completely in the mystic world of ancient civilizations. Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis features one of the best soundtracks in the genre. It is a mixture of the many cultures in which the game is set. The superb graphics and the fantastic soundtrack wouldn’t make an awesome game on their own, which is why the puzzles are a mixture of logical, inventory based puzzles and more. The difficulty of the riddles is varied (and yes there are some tough ones) but the beautiful cut scenes reward you nicely once you think your way through.

Without further ado, Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for only $9.99 with the manual, custom wallpapers, and the original soundtrack!

Wow...Words can't describe how underwhelmed I am. Now can we please get back to the EA releases? Please?
Is this better than the firts one??

Zeewolf: My guess is that at $9.99 this will be one of the poorest selling games ever on GOG.

grviper: But it's got a screenshot of boobs!
Ha ha ha. Thank you for making me laugh out loud at work.

The first game actually looks interesting but I'm not sure about this one, especially with all of the previous comments.

Isn't nudity not a big deal over in Europe? That must be what the "E" stands for. ;)

Anyhoo, consider looking at it this way: GOG released it so people would at least have the /option/ of purchasing it; if you know it's a crappy game, it's a good idea to put your opinion in the comments area.

Hopefully we'll get back to EA titles, soon, so I can see all the shining faces once again.

EDIT: Yay, my star. :)

Hold on what did I miss, what's the star? Oh I see if you get a few likes probably 25 you get a star and then more as your popularity goes up. I'd strangely not noticed.

No interest here too. No more adventure games please, or if you do at least make it a good one! I'm also open to RPG, SIM, FPS, TPS, STG, TBS, RTS... anything else really.
Sooo... any word on when we might expect the other EA titles? I figured it'd be sometime in August till we saw some again, but I'm really hoping for sooner rather than later.

liquidsnakehpks: ....finally its here, a fair warning though this Atlantis series is complex and hard pixel hunting game :D [..]
I'm not a big fan of these kind of games - either the pixels hunt me, or I leave them alone (pixel pacifist?) - usually, at least.

On the other hand, since I don't have the time to play games as much as I'd like, I'm no stranger to playing the game on one monitor, with a detailed walkthrough on the other monitor (tip: monitors to the left of the main one isn't messed up when/if the game changes the resolution).

Thus, to me, these games are more about atmosphere and a good story than feeling the satisfaction of figuring out - all by myself - that the handkerchief should be combined with the rubber band and the wooden toy soldier to form a paratrooper that - at a distance - would fool the bartender to think there's an attack, just so that I can get the milk bottle from behind the bar to use with the butter churn so that I can make some butter for the village idiot to slip on so that I can get the contents of his pockets, which is - ultimately - used to save the universe as we know it. Or don't know it - I'm usually just confused at this point.

If the game has a good story I really hate getting stuck somewhere, running back and forth desperately trying to find the magic pixel that allows the experience to continue - if it takes too long, I lose the feeling of being part of the story, and then it's basically reduced to a chore, just getting through it for the sake of completion (although I often skip that part in those cases - who'd know, anyway?).

So, with the above in mind, would you recommend this game?

pH7:
the game story is awesome[ any adventure game that is about Atlantis is awesome] and the atmosphere is good, like i said playing the game is extremely difficult, you could get stuck for weeks, just cause you could not find a DAMN DIFFERENT colored block, in a HUGE temple that has like 8 rooms[sorry for the spoiler], could make you rage quit and shift delete the game
...if you play the game just for the story, you will need the help of a walk-through thought the game, not sure if that is fun..

if you are in for the story, buy it with joy. I am curious to see how the game will run :D the cd version had tons of issue running on windows xp, gog magic should have solved those problems :D

know that the story is not fully complete, since its a series of Atlantis games, each one is different, some take place after the previous one http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/cryos-atlantis-series
the only game in the series, i loved a lot is not yet released here, hope it comes here someday
