A few additional suggestions:
- a "browse by top votes" might indeed be handy. Just having a small button to scroll to the next page of "most voted by community" should suffice.
- have some sort of standard for the name used in the list, such as using the US title whenever possible. It's certainly odd to have Serf City, Settlers 2, and Settlers 3 be the three entires in the series listed.
- maintain a list of alternate names and have the search function handle them. Possibly allow users to submit such name variations. The alternatives need not include typos and versions with the subtitles omitted (such as "Incubation" as an alternative of "Incubation: Time is Running Out"), just titles that are significantly different and won't pop up as a result during searches otherwise.

groovychainsaw: I already own most of the classics and I'm hoping that more of the forgotten gems will turn up here rather than the system shocks/baldur's gates of the world, surely most people own those??

Fallout 1 or 2 has occupied the spot of best selling game on the site for , apparently - and surely most people already own those games as well, no? Maybe, or maybe not, fact is, there is a demand for such games.

Epic facepalm at people adding the Fallout series to the wishlist when it's already available at the store.
:psyduck:
I added Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter, vote for it. There's a demo out and it's pretty fun. To hell with what IGN and others say, it was really fun.
Also who the hell added Spore. Are you serious?

Faithful: Man, the more I see the front page of the voting, I think that some of these titles are likely getting votes because they are on the front page and other people have voted for them.
It may be better to remove them from the front page and see what naturally rises to the top of the list.

What he said.

kraelen: Ok own up... Who put Bioshock on the wishlist?
It is hardly an old game now is it.
:p

Nor is Mass Effect and Spore, and they are on the list too. I am rather disappointed that the list is getting clogged up with games you can still find on the shelves, or that are very easy to find. Should any game that was made for Windows XP or Vista be on the list at all?
And who put the Fallout games in there?
And those who are voting for Star Control, really need to vote for Planet's Edge. I will not rest until it is added to GoG!

And Crysis. The thing is 5 other people have voted for it as well. Its just getting a bit silly now!

deathkitten: Anything a year older is probably fair game, as far as I have seen there is no official line drawn on what is old and what is not, it's a very subjective word.

In this day and age I would say anything over 2-3 years, is old. Games come and go so fast.
It feels like yesterday I was playing Elder scrolls: Morrowind and drooling at the sunset, and wondering why a mudcrab was biting my feet. Then I remember Elder Scrolls: Oblivion has been out for for 2 years or so now. Though I wouldn't class Oblivion as old though.
That reminds me. I never finished the mages guild story line...
*wanders off to reinstall Oblivion*
As people have alluded to it, Crysis, Mass Effect, Spore, Bioshock, etc. are on the list to protest against intrusive DRM measures such as SecuROM. While I am heavily against DRM myself, as I've said in another topic, I don't think this is the best time and place for that.
The inherent silliness of putting stuff like Halo/Bioshock/Crysis on a wishlist of
"Good Old Games that can be sold for less than 10 bucks"
makes me laugh. People are just silly.
Thankfully since sane types won't vote for them, none of these games will
show up on the top 20 or so, and that's what the list is there to keep track of.

I agree. This wishlist is to help the Gog.com team get an idea of what games should be their priority. Not to make some kind of lame protest that isn't going to be seen by anyone except the choir.
Smart, slick, tidy. That's a very nice work Mantra you guys have. This Wishlist is a fantastic idea and extremely well implemented. You guys are (and have been :p) to be commended.
Awesome work.
Karl
ps: Would you like some volunteers to get reviews and descriptions of the games on the list? That way they can be linked to and people can have some information about what they are voting for. I would be happy to help with this :)

Need something on the page to say "Please search for your game first before using the Add option" as I'm already seeing duplicates appear (Day of the Tentacle for example).
Nice work guys.
Based on how it is now, I wouldn't change a thing. Based on a lot of the previous comments, I think lots of people here seem to be getting a bit too cute with their feature suggestions and are forgetting the fundamental rule - Keep It Simple Stupid.
What you've got now looks good and works.
Don't change a thing.

Except for the duplicates comment right above you. That's a valid point.
I really like the the way you guys did the wishlist. It's very appropriate for GOG, which is easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing websites on the Internet.
