The MythBusters were firing a canon for a myth test, overshot, and the cannonball traveled two miles before it passed through a house where people were sleeping and then landed in a parked minivan. No injuries were reported.

What myth were they testing that required a CANNON?

Wow, that's going to be killer on their insurance. Glad to hear no one was hurt. I wonder if the show will keep going.

Well, I always figured it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

They use cannons frequently. They use this particular cannon frequently. They aim for a barrier of safety barrels and concrete dividers. This time, the cannonball, uh, bounced.

One source says it was a preliminary test shot; they were going to determine whether they could shoot improvised shrapnel, like using the thing for a high-powered spud gun.

It could be another duct tape cannon.

I wonder if this will actually make the show.

Great they haven't hit anybody. Because if they did, it could be the end of the show for good...

There's also that whole "people who get hit by cannon balls moving at high velocity get hurt, a lot" thing which is kind of more important. :p

Damn, scary thought. Hope it doesn't mean MythBusters is seen as unsafe and subsequently cancelled. Worse overreactions have happened before.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering that same question.

Also, the residents were "sleeping" at 4:30 in the afternoon and it didn't wake them? Yeah, they were probably doing their own type of playing.

Entertaining story, though, since no one was hurt.

I hope it does. I really do. Nobody got hurt, they are insured and it clearly show how even professionals are in danger or can cause harm.

plus just reading the description on how the cannonball travelled is hilarious. its like from a Bugs Bunny cartoon
