Mmmm... I got around two hundred games, but I know exactly which and in which condition I got them.

If you have a large collection you'll be wondering if there's something like this sooner or later.
And you can use it for all of your games, downloaded and retail.
But yes, the GOG like shelf it's a huge plus :)

I don't. I strike a Balance between the Order that is the GOG list, and the drawer I keep my boxes in, and the Chaos of the never knowing quite what I have, boxed or digital.

I just narrow the DD services I use down to two: GOG and, preferably, Steam.

I guess I can remember every game I have and where it is. For the GOG stuff, I just have it sitting on my HD in a folder with a backup on my Netbook.

I remember every game I've bought, where it is/supposed to be, and what type of distribution. So it isn't something I need a system for.

I imagine my game collection is pretty small compared to that of most folks here, so I'm able to keep things straight in my head easily enough with regards to what games I own and don't own. For keeping track of the actual game materials, I pretty much only buy physical copies and games from GOG, so physical copies go on the shelf and GOG installers go in their own directory. Not a particularly scalable system, but currently it works well for me.

Those of you that can keep track of everything in your head: you guys probably have more RAM than me :)

The people who say they track everything in their head probably doesn't even care. That's why I own Call of Duty about five times over (got my new copy today).

I guess it really depends on the size of the collection.
I'm really not seeing anyone managing to keep track of everything with very large collections.
I like this app 'cause it fetches the info from the web but everything is stored locally. By carrying around the app folder in an usb drive you have your entire collection DB with you all the time. Also, lots of sorting possibilities, since you can use custom tags.

I've probably got over 150 games, and I easily keep track of all of them in my head. I do have several copies of some games, but that is only because of some collections I've bought, and some that I've received as gifts.
