jesskitten: Dungeons of Dredmor at least doesn't require Steam to play (ie you can pull out the game folder and uninstall Steam and still run it) though it does still fall under that first category of indie games only available on Steam, so perhaps (without actually having seen any developer feedback about it) they'll release it elsewhere eventually.. then again so was Terraria at one point, so who knows heh.
Ah, thanks for that bit of info! I'm a bit wary though because, as you say Terraria was like that at first and then they bloody added Steam DRM into it in an update. I felt a bit cheated by that...
Dungeons of Dredmor looks good, but I think I'll wait and see.
