I learned today Tripwire Interactive will release a new game Killing Floor a Co-Op game like Left 4 Dead (or killer). Game looks awesome and it is using Unreal Engine 2.5 and will be released on Steam and will use Steamworks integration too (achievements etc.). I am seeing a lot of potential in this game. You can see the screenshots and read the information from the link. I am really wanting to learn this game's release date.

And here is the first interview.

... wait what?
Looks a little bit meh, but who knows...
I'm with TheJoe on this one... just can't get excited over FPS games any more. I think I peaked during Half Life, haven't been able to maintain the interest since.
On a side note, for RTS games, it was C&C Tiberian Sun.
oh, and here I thought it was the movie :/
Well, I am excited - and a little surprised. I had expected Tripwire to make another WW2-game (or at least something similar to RO). But I know that whatever they're doing, it's worth paying attention to.

Let me get this straight. Someone is making a new commercial game, using Unreal Engine 2.5? Isn't that a bit like making a new game using DirectX7? Don't get me wrong, I'm no technology whore (or I wouldn't be on GOG, I suppose), I'm just surprised, because most publishers are.
I don't think Tripwire cares much about publishers. They've had tremendous success on Steam, and that's where they're going to release this game as well. Maybe it'll get a retail release later on, like RO did, but I don't think they're counting on that.

Yes, they don't care about graphics or something. They care about playability, they did good with Red Orchestra and for me this game will be good too. Also Unreal Engine 2.5 supports DX9 or DX 8.1. I think, but they really modified the game engine. And read the interview that I posted please, they are explaining everything in there.
Oh also, I'd like to say there is NOTHING NEW here, Killing Floor has been released for ut2004 in 1.0 in 2005 and ever since been improving... And trust me on this, I've been playing it. A LOT.
Just so the guys who are saying/were going to say "blah blah blah left 4 dead ripoff blah blah blah/nothing original".

Finally, someone who's actually heard of Killing Floor
I've been paying attention to this for about a year already, but never had the urge to buy UT2k4. From the latest videos of the mod though, it seems that it's very fast paced. I'm looking for a game that's not fast paced and requires some decent thinking to survive, instead of 1337 headshotting skills. Will Killing Floor cut it for me?

The best would be for you to try. You sure gotta think a bit, and co-op is really needed when it comes to the weapons and choosing the right place where to move or camp (for the final waves of monsters, especially). When you know the maps it's quite simple to finish them, but you can tweak the waves to get a "new" experience. It's definitely creepier than L4D, but still it isn't as polished as L4D, so you got to close your eyes on some things, like minor bugs.

BUY IT. NOW.
Even if you're not into the whole UT universe, the diverse mod community is well worth the entrance fee.

You do know what FPS stands for, don't you?
