It's not a franchise. Jane's is a miltary publishing company. EA worked with them to provide accurate data for their flight sims.
This is just Evolved getting the license to use their name.
What we need on GOG is F/A-18. If EA could just remove Jane's from the game like Strategy First did when they rereleased Fleet Command, that would be sweet.

I would love to see more flight simulators here. And other sims too.
The late 80's and a large part of the 90's were full of sims.
You hear me gog?

I absolutely agree. Flight sims are almost gone, and GOG is probably the perfect place for a rebirth, or rise of the flightsim-phoenix. Getting at least some of those Jane's Combat Simulations would be a awesome.

Bring on Heroes of the Pacific!
Find me another flight sim where you are tasked with single handedly repelling the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor!

Heroes of the Pacific is not a flight simulator by a long shot.
It's as much a flight simulator as Pac-Man is a DEA simulation.

There is some fun in modern avionics and countermeasures.
I'd say the urge to move away from IL would be similar to the urge of playing some Seawolf or Hunter-Killer after enough sessions of Silent Hunter or Aces of the Deep. Or vice-versa, even.

Seriously I'm very to open to anything in regards to flight sims which is why I'm kind of lounging in this thread. I might hear about something that gets me salivating.

Well, I must have played many hours of BattleHawks 1942 in the late 80's on my Atari ST. I wish they would bring the DOS version of it here.
There are a few others I loved loved loved playing back then.
F-16 Combat Pilot was awesome, especially during night missions.
Bomber (also knows as Strike Aces) were a reason I missed several classes at school lol.
Gunship and Gunship 2000 were two others I spent countless hours on. I was always a sucker of random campaign generator etc.
Another I enjoyed very much, though as much a flight sim as heroes of the pacific, was ATF II (also known as Airstrike USA). Basically it was a very light version of Gunship combined with Afterburner.
The F-15 strike eagle games (by Sid) were fun, although I only enjoyed enough the third in the series. Its cousins F-19/F-117 were great too.
There were a few more of course but I better stop here.
As for non flying ones, M1 Tank Platoon I played a lot, but I played it 90% of the time from the map view as as strategy game than sim.
M4 Sherman was fun but it felt either too easy or too difficult at times.
ADS (Advance Destroyer SImulator) was awesome for what it was, although as much sim as Battle Command lol.
The one simulation I played more than any other was probably the Silent Service series. Even the first one with the less than ideal graphics, it had more atmosphere and feeling that you were there, than any other sub sim for me.

M1 Tank Platoon 1 and 2 were awesome. Would love to see them on here. And most of the other MicroProse flight sims for that matter... F14 Fleet Defender was brilliant.
Also Aces Of The Pacific / Aces Over Europe, The Jane's sims as mentioned above, TFX, EF2000, F22 and many more.
I spent a lot of time playing flight sims in my youth - sadly I suspect if any of these games came up on GOG I wouldn't actually have time to play them now... :(
