Last night I found that Steam suddenly gives invalid key error on every retail key that i've tryed. Can somebody else test this so we can if this issue is with me or it is a really strange change by Steam.

Steam was acting strange all night for me yesterday..

I've seen several reports about key redemption issues on Steam during the night. The games affected were all over the place (some Total War games, some Just Cause 2 DLC, even Disciples Reincarnation, possibly Bioshock 2).

You say it's a problem with 25-character keys. Does this mean that 25-character keys always fail for you, and keys of other formats always work? How many have you tried?

I haven't tried any 25 char code, but I had to log in from 15 to 15 minutes or so.
Also, the store was offline for a few hours..

Yes the problem is with 25-character keys only. Last when I've noticed the problem I've tested with 4 diff games:
Mafia 2,Civ 5,DNF & Lara Croft.

I've tested the 15-character keys with 2 games activated: Saturday Morning RPG & Not The Robots.

Weird.

I registered about 10 keys on Steam between the night and noon, and had no problems, but all of those were 15-character keys.

I can't find any mention of a key redemption problem on Steam's forums, but I am seeing customers with this problem elsewhere.

Just tested a Civ 5 key (25-character) with ZPavelZ - same problem. I guess the problem is quite serious. Somebody at Valve HQ screwed something up.

My dark souls 25 symbol code bought from gamersgate.com cannot activate.

Yep, I'm also seeing reports that it's working again.

Weird stuff. I've seen the Steam authentication server go offline many times, but I've never seen such a specific problem that only affected one type of keys.
