Elmofongo: So no Gamecube virtual console?

Anyway I decide to get it when Pikmin 3 is out so I have 2 games to dedicate time to.

Darvond: All things considered, it pains me to see how they did roll out the virtual console on Wii-U. At least with the Wii, it was understandable that there were major system limitations that prevented the Wii Virtual Console from flourishing, but I really don't see why they chose to "trial" the virtual console and celebrate 30 years of Famicom with a weekly drip, but I feel that it is becoming fairly clear that Nintendo is at least one generation out of touch.

Really, do they not have the infrastructure to do one game from each Famicom a day for 30 days with the final result of a library that's fairly filled at 60 total titles? It'd be a great way to kick off such a celebration.

I really want to buy the Wii-U and renew the old flames I had for Nintendo, but they're making it quite hard to even consider returning to their house, with the utter lack of online infrastructure and Miyamoto implying heavily in an interview that basically Nintendo felt that until recently, a robust online experience wasn't possible until recently.

Oh well. At least they're simply out of touch, unlike companies in the west who not only are actively connected, but actively screwing consumers.
In one way we should be glad Nintendo does not focus on Online in this sense:

No online Multiplayer in Metroid, Pikmin, and Zelda, no Pokemon MMO (even though that would be kind of cool if done right)

Nintendo is the only company that focuses on Making games and offline in an Industry so focused on Online gaming. In that sense, we should be glad we still have Nintendo.
I'll get one eventually, I have a bunch of wii retail and digital titles and the backwards compatibility is a no brainer.

Although they already got into DLC with the 3DS, and from what I heard, it's more or less Micro-DLC.

Understandable, missed opportunity, Four Swords, Pokemon is famous for its online scene.

Okay, so that's only one franchise, currently in ruins that has not, or would not really benefit from multiplayer/online.

And I'm not saying the games need online, I'm saying that Nintendo's lack of an online system among other things is leaving them in the sands and dust.
Another vote here for waiting it out. If the sales don't improve, you can expect to see lots of specials from retailers looking to move systems. I remember some like Best Buy giving Nintendo Land with the Wii U basic and Newegg having a special where the Zombie U pack was $350. Unless you know for sure you are going to play Monster Hunter a lot right now, just wait a bit and see what comes up sales wise.

Again I decide to get it when Pikmin 3 comes out, and yes I will play alot of Monster Hunter I put 200+ hours in the original 3 for the Wii and with Ultimate 3 with its massive amount of extra content that play time could be tripled.

Sadly I don't know if there are any Best Buys in Puerto Rico, I don't live anywhere near one as far as I know.

What big chain stores are there in your area? I'd imagine there is at least one that has had a Wii U special recently or will have one over the next few weeks.

For games:

Gamestop, Wal-Mart, K-Mart (I saw a retail version of The Wticher 2 there), and Toys R Us.

K-Mart has specials every so often. This past week I think they had a $25 gift card with purchase of a PS3. Also Gamestop does have specials but they are more rare. I would say to check Cheap Ass Gamer as you get closer to purchase to see if any of those stores have anything for the Wii U.

I feel more comfertable getting it at a retail store, I don't want to make another account on a website for only one thing.

CAG is just a basic forum where people talk about deals and specials for games. No need to register for anything to read it.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11

They usually have weekly threads for places like Gamestop and K-Mart to list what is on sale for the week and specials.
Is it worth getting the WiiU now?

OMG Awesome! Music sends chills down my spine. I read they were adding the villager from Animal Crossing too.

I only hope this Smash Bros. is closer to Melee, I felt Brawl was far too floaty.

The music is from Megaman 2. I SO AWESOME. I want a Wii U now!
I'll wait 2014 to consider it, also it could be a good choice to get some older WII games like Xenoblades because of the retro compatibility.
