It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Well some more tech help and you guys have helped before so:

Is there any way to roll back a version of Internet Explorer??

I already have FF, so I have an alternative, but there are gaming reasons I prefer IE and a month or so ago I upgraded to the very latest version. Usually no big deal, but this time:

I can't access my bank account anymore:

I can't access and pay two or three of my bills I always pay online.

I can't access my credit card account.

I can't access my amazon card account.

Each one has responded to my inquiries with the answer that the problem is my new version of IE. But it's been over a month now and I don't want to do a restore because it's been that long.

So anyone know how to roll back to the previous version of IE without doing a system restore?

Does depend on version, operating system etc a little bit - but by and large you should just be able to remove it from within Control Panel --> Add & Remove Programs / Uninstall A Program

NB it might show up as an update rather than a program - which is just a different link off Control Panel -> Programs and features...

I'm not sure that's possible, since IE is considered a windows update, though not sure if critical or not. Take a look at the add/remove programs on Control Panel, it should have a checkbox to show installed updates.

Alternatively, press F12 on IE to open developer's tools, and the last one should be emulation. See if changing the User agent string allows you to use your banking, though I'd suggest checking with a non-payment option first.

Thanks, but no, it's not listed as a program or under an update. I had already looked for the program itself, but I hadn't thought to check if maybe it was listed as an update, but it wasn't. Thanks for the idea.
Unless this has changed, IE has been pretty tightly integrated into Windows since they got busted for antitrust behavior involving their bundling practices.

As far as I know, you can't downgrade it, and even if you could, you'd likely wind up having to reinstall the OS when something goes wrong. Windows handles library differences much better now than it did in the past, but I'm not sure how resilient it is at this point.

I can see 'Internet Explorer 11' under Microsoft Windows in the updates section of Windows 7 - I just checked

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

This did it... sort of.

I wasn't clear enough, but the problem was always that the page would load, but certain parts of the page would not show up. For example, on my bank account page, I would see the banks name at the top, a list of the options one could normally choose when on that page, but nothing account specific whatsoever.

With that in my mind, instead of changing the user agent string, I figured I try changing the Document from default to 10 since it seemed to simply an issue of displaying the document properly. AND BOOM, ALL THE DATA SHOWED UP.

Thank you so much. I NEVER would have thought of that, because I never heard of that, didn't even know what the hell F12 did, but now I can access my bank account again. I'm going now to try the other areas I had problems but I'd bet the result will be the same because the symptoms were so similar on all of those pages.

THANK YOU AGAIN man, and I'm so sorry for keep asking tech questions on a gaming site, but damn it seems you guys always help me.

Oh, well, I guess I don't know how to look for updates. I looked on the Uninstall/Remove Programs, and it wasn't there. Was I supposed to look somewhere else??

EDIT: Oh, I just saw your edit. THANK YOU, okay, I know where you're talking about now.

I'm going to try all the other sites I had problems with to see if the changing the document setting above helps and if not, I'll go ahead and uninstall that update. If it does work, I'm thinking I'll leave it alone because I think eventually all of those sites will become compatible with 11.

THANKS AGAIN folks, learn so much here.

May help to use
Tools - compatibility mode settings
and add the desired site to the list of site to view in 'compatibility mode' then!

No worries, I keep saying that GOG is like the local pub, where you can discuss anything and not only what drinks are the best.

As for the user agent and document settings, the user agent is what the browser reports when asked, so if a website shows different content depending on browser used, you can see it, while the document format is how to parse the sent data. Either way, glad it's working :)
Every new release of IE is less functional than the one before it. If you go to the "About Internet Explorer" bit under wherever the Help menu has ended up - I haven't used IE in a couple of releases - there will be a check-box there that lets you upgrade to the newest version when it comes out. I always suggest to people that they un-tick that box, so that they do NOT update to the newest release.

When IE releases become stable, they are released as Windows Updates to all users. Unless you like Internet sorrow, or are a tinkerer at heart, it's best to wait until they force it on everyone, rather than being in the front lines.
Okay, just tried two more sites and got the exact same thing I always get, the page comes up but not the individual specific data, and once again, as soon as I hit F12, and changed the Document setting from Default to 10, BOOM, the rest of the page loads up normally.

Just got a couple more pages to check, but I feel confident now it's going to be the same result.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

I play a baseball sim, a text based game (Out of The Park Baseball), that outputs it's report to whatever the default browser is for view and printing, and for some reason those reports all look a lot better when my default browser is set to IE than when it's FF. I don't know but I suspect that most of you guys would know how to "fix" it to look exactly as you want but I have no clue how to change things like fonts and sizes and such. All I know is the reports look better on IE than FF, so I prefer to have my default browser as IE just because of that one game, which I actually play more than any other game.

To give you an idea of how much I play that game, I play out each game, one AB at a time (you can just sim a game and it takes maybe 1 second), and I started a league in real life year 2008. Baseball seasons play 162 games a year plus in this game 24 games a year in spring training. And after starting that league in the OOTP year 1901, and I am now in the year 1963. Perhaps that will give you an idea of how much I play that game. Playing out a game one AB at a time takes about 10-15 minutes per game. Times 186 games per year. Times 62 years.

Yeah, never done it that way myself, not sure if it'll remember your setting for every visit - if it doesn't try adding the site to the 'compatibility mode' list in tools, as I say
I HATE this new IE. It doesn't work with one of my computers at all. FB, GOG and some news website will crash it right away. It was terribly frustrating.

I was able to uninstall IE by going to the list of Windows updates (or hotfixes or whatever they call them -- I don't have it in front of me now). IE was listed as the very last item in that list. After I uninstalled it, I had the previous version of IE.

I have heard that unless you turn off automatic windows updates, that it will re-install, but mine hasn't yet.

The thing that made me most angry over this verion of IE was that tons and tons of people have said that it doesn't work and I saw something from MS that blew them off and said "Yes it does. It has full compatibility." (not a direct quote) I was blown away. Clearly there is something severely wrong with this rendition if huge numbers of people can't access their websites.

You know, I'm rethinking my decision to stay with it. I think I now I will uninstall it and revert back to 10 so I don't have to worry about hitting F12 every time (sorry to the above poster, but I don't know how to use the "compatibility mode" you speak of, and it's not like upgrading is some major operation that takes an hour or so. It takes a matter of minutes, so I think I am going to revert back to 10, and then later when all of these issues are worked out, I'll upgrade again.
WELL THAT DID NOT WORK!!

Now I'm in a fix. Internet Explorer won't work AT ALL. Neither 10 nor 11. I'm on FF now.

God dammit I wish I'd never tried to revert back now.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

This is so god damn frustrating.
