I'm not sure how to report this or if its been said before but a lot of reviews seem to have &quot ; instead of ". is this being fixed or is it a problem with the review thing?

Edited because the forum changes the HTML code. oops.

Been there, Done that :D
Check out the first review (by Calli) on The Guild. E.g. "&quot ;Complex&quot ;"

That too. :D
Those codes are used in html to make sure special letters or signs like ö are displayed properly for everyone, he probably copied his review from somewhere. Looking at the length of it probably somewhere he could save in between writing.
Is it still possible to make a thread with nothing? Someone did it shortly after I joined.

We know...
That makes sense I guess. It seems quite common though, like in the Lure of the temptress reviews. As I accidentally found out, the forum changes these codes to the correct symbol, can't the review thing do the same?

p.s. why can't I post a link to a game? Am I too new? I thought I could a second ago.
When it was discovered that special characters would mess with the forum software, they converted existing text fields to use the special html character codes rather than the characters themselves. Older official GOG posts would exhibit this same behavior. Perhaps they've just neglected to fix this for displayed reviews.

Ah thanks for the history lesson. I didn't realise that this was a new thing. Perhaps GOG will update the reviews soon.

For future reference, is there a way to report problems without incurring the forum's wrath? Since posting this topic I can't use links anymore (even if they're links to GOG games).

Newish thing... I think they did it last year some time.

Not sure why you can't click links. I know that they added a "new users can't post links until they have enough rep" thing last year, but I've never heard about not being able to click links...

You can always report problems using the Support part of the site.
Sorry I meant I can't make them any more. I can click them.

I made a link to the guild above and the worked but when I tried to link to Lure of the temptress it said I couldn't make links.

edit: wait, that worked again now. Weird.

Yeah, if it keeps saying that you can't make links, that should disappear at some point once your rep is higher. We don't know the exact number, I don't think they've said.

Either way, that's intentional. They did that to stop spam posts with links.
That makes good sense. I've seen a bit of spam on the Community Wishlist but haven't seen any in the forums so far.
