Anyone have an idea as to why i can hook my DS to the net and the Nintendo shop but when it comes to games (Heart Gold, B&W) it cant connect?

You have got to set it up to play online. I know on the white version it is on the main menu.... you have got to find an access point & then you can get online.

I started it last night, went with Tepig and named it Nox. I didn't get very far cause I was feeling really tired but so far I like. I do wish they kept the 'your Pokemon walk around with you' option from HG\SS. It was simple but something that I found very sweet. :P

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that missed this.

Man, there's a lot of early Pokemon in this one that evolve via Happiness. I'm going for Swoobat for my Pokemon with Fly, I didn't like the Pidove when I looked into him. He seemed pretty weak compared to the Staraptor I'd been using during Gen IV.

In HG\SS the top pokemon on your list would walk around on the map with you. I liked it a lot and would often turn around and click on them to see what it says. Now I can't say for sure as I'm not far at all in Black but from screenshots it doesn't seem like they kept that in.

The first Pokemon in your party actually was animated walking behind you when in most areas of the game in HeartGold/SoulSilver. The first Pokemon in your party is still considered being "walked" as far as raising happiness goes, but it's not animated. Walking a Metagross or some of the Legendaries was pretty fun.

Btw, if you pick up HG/SS at some point, you can collect a ton of Legendaries from them. Also, Platinum had all the legendaries from Diamond and Pearl plus a new one, so if you get a pre HG/SS Gen IV game get Platinum.

Pokemon is huge, if you get stuck Bulbapedia (which has slow ass servers even during the best of times and is hammered right now) has a lot of great info as well as Serbeii.

Are you shittin' me? That is the one thing that I always wanted to happen in the games when I was a kid... y'know like how Pikachu did with Ash in the Anime? I know Yellow did it, but that is the only version that I kne did it.

On a side note, I wish your two friends in B&W would actually travel with you as opposed to meeting you at so & so town.... I mean they say they are traveling with you, so why not actually.... y'know... travel with you?

I always got a kick out of the one that was "X is nibbling the ground." I have no idea why I found that so damn adorable but I did. :3 Sentret has always been one of my favorite Pokemon so I used the little Pokemon pedometer that came with the game til I finally caught one (I think I named it Rosella after KQ Rosella cause I'm strange :P) and would have her wander around on screen with me. It made me so happy and I wish that would carry into B&W cause having Tepig walking around with me would be really cute.

Are Heart Gold & Soul Silver different from the originals or something? I was under the impression that they were remakes.

On a side note.... has anybody noticed how stupid some of the new pokemon look? Granted the last game I played was I think Ruby and I'm sure they've added a shit ton of Pokemon since then, but really alot of the new ones aren't at the level of quality of the older games... I mean a dog with a furry face? WTF?

They're remakes with an insane amount of new features, basically complete overhauls of the originals. I'd suggest you hit YouTube to see for yourself how they've changed.

Also, I thought that dog with the furry face was inspired by stuff like the Yorkshire Terrier, and in fairness every generation of games has had some pretty WTF designs.

To be fair, co-op play is included, you can have a real friend travel with you:)
