From July 1st - July 4th lol. While it may seem like the typical Impulse weekend sale, it's actually rather obvious that this is Stardock's attempt at emulating Steam too. Not that it's a bad thing.
-edit- Just looked at the selection. Yeesh.

And as usual their sale prices suck.
NAMCO ALL-STARS PAC-MAN
What the fuck?
Hey, let's top Steam...with the Meridian 4 catalog...marked down for less than it's discounted on Steam.
Ugh.
Meridian 4 tries to help Impulse, but it's just not enough to compete with the mighty Steam.
I get more excited for a new full price game on GoG.
Pew, those games stink. All they have is what Steam already had.
The only interesting thing on there is the THQ bundle for less than steam sells, and includes both Supreme commander games, but lacks Warhammer 40k II.
the other things are... yeah.

What the fuck?

A pathetic attempt from Namco to copy Sega with one of Namco's few actual icons.
Funny the DRM is listed as Impulse Reactor. Guess the publishers have got their hands on it and can use it.

I've given up on Impulse. Their selection is poor, their weekend deals are no longer even worth reading about, and my experience buying and installing The Witcher ensures that I'll never spend more than a few dollars on an Impulse release.

I'll agree that their selection is more limited when compared to Steam. But forgive my ignorance (and the somewhat off-topic nature of the question), what was the problem with buying/installing The Witcher?

You mean you're not going to get the bus driver simulator?
At least its good occasion for me to buy those SOSE add-ons, oh sorry i forgot i already spent all my money on steams perils of summer.

I got into Impulse because I bought Galactic Civilizations II at retail. I think The Witcher was the first game I actually bought digitally from Impulse, so I guess I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I dislike blackbox installers on principle, but buying The Witcher showed me just how much fun they can be.
After I downloaded the eight-gigabyte installer, which of course took several hours, the client locked up while trying to prepare the installation. I had to restart it, so naturally, I had to download the entire thing again, because it was too much to ask for those files to still exist. This time it managed to install properly - I wasn't pleased that it was running a 20-minute installation completely behind the scenes, but at least it worked.
The next step was to back up my installer to DVD, so I wouldn't have to download it again in the future. I navigated to my download directory, and... oops. Apparently the downloaded files are automatically deleted when installation is complete. Fine - I go back to Impulse and click the "backup" button - which apparently just redownloads the whole thing again, judging from the amount of time it took. When it finally finished, I was left with an eight-gigabyte .impulse file, which I guess I'm supposed to feed into the Impulse client in order to reinstall the game.
If I ever want to play The Witcher again, I think I'll just buy another copy from somewhere else. I bought it on Impulse because it was on sale, but I regret it completely.
Since then, I've bought a few games from Impulse during their $2.99 weekend sales (which they don't do anymore). The installation process is acceptable for small, inexpensive games, but I'll never make a large purchase on Impulse again.

They can't even offer a good deal on their own stuff. That's pretty weak. Plus, selling them individually would have been a good idea. But it's Impulse so I don't expect good ideas to be abundant.

Ouch. I wonder if one of their staff will come here and chime in on that comment. Oh wait. It wasn't posted be Delixe =P
