hi doe's anybody have any idea why some games from impulse are locked for my region, but i can get them from GOG? thanks for any help.
Because GOG games are DRM free and available worldwide. Impulse/Stardock enforce regional restrictions that prevent people outside the US/Canada from buying a large part of their catalogue.
thanks-they must lose a lot of business to GOG(which is a good thing as even when you cant get the games in your region they still tell you the price and they are cheaper on GOG).

Even if Impulse were cheaper GOG is better for the convenience of DRM Free. With Impulse you have to download and install the client to download and install your games. With all the client based services these days people like to keep them at a minimum on their PC's.
as Delixe already said: the games on gog are available worldwide and the prices are fair to everyone worldwide as well

It's one of the reasons why I really like gog.com

none of this 1 dollar = 1 euro bullcrap that other places like steam have
Bu-bu-but regional restrictions and unfair regional pricing is all publisher's fault!!!
agree 100% Roman5-its was because of impulse and they region locking of games that i found GOG. For me GoG is a the best site i use and unlike steam, impulse etc you are not penalized for living outside of America.

What happens when the publisher is Stardock? Elemental LE = €74.99 *cough*

they don't care, because in their la-la land of make belief they are the second largest DD site in the world. Second only to Steam!!!! Thus, they don't need the stinking money that us mere non-NA based barbarians use. You see, it smells funny and they don't like that.

Lol.. and another reason is that us barbarians, will probably start making and distributing illegal copies of their precious software catalog.
GOG > Impulse

That's mostly true, but if all the online distribution sites said no it wouldn't happen.

Mr. Gog is very good about refusing to carry any games for which he can't get a worldwide license.
Because, Trebor, some companies are crap and Stardock is one such company.

And its CEO is a lying butthead, or full on crazy, I can't quite tell.

A third possibility is that he's so completely lost in his ego as to be divorced from reality. The Elemental debacle seemed to suggest that, with him bullheadedly maintaining his stance that the game was complete.
