ok, so right,
Thursday GOG announced it's weekend sale, right? whoa, totally.
much earlier than normal, on friday.
so then on Thursday, later in the day, Steam announces it's weekend sale, and this too is earlier.
so like, I'm thinking maybe steam is really trying to uh, compete with GOGcom

Announcements could be getting earlier and earlier as part of a trend. Before you know it, it will loop back to where it started...

It's because this Friday is the 1st of May, which is Labour Day / International Worker's Day - which means you get the day off work in many countries.

Steam's been updating their weekend deals on Thursdays often in the past two months, if you haven't noticed.
But this week, THE weekend deal went up as scheduled on Friday, and the Left 4 Dead sale was on Thursday. So, uh, yeah.

I haven't seen any of the weekend updates go up on Thursday. I check before I go to class and nothing, I check after my first class and it's usually up, around 11 or noon on Fridays.
