I've been trying for quite a while now to clean up this image so that it is just Doomguy's outline, shotgun and all. I keep messing up on the arm and losing most of the shotgun.
Would anyone care to help?

Give me 15mins... I'll see what I can do. :)
Thanks =D
I see what you mean about the shotgun... the contrast between the shotgun and the background is awful. May take a little longer than 15mins! have trimmed everything else though.
Edit: Hows this? (see attached)

It looks... terrible. Not picking on your skills, it's what you have to work with that's bad. It's obviously an image in a much lower resolution that's been scaled up, which means that the pixels on the edges end up being much smaller than the pixels inside the image itself.
All it requires is a decent background, for the edges to be blended into that background appropriately, and then to reduce the size of the image to something more appropriate.
It does entirely depend on the use.

Works just fine - yeah so the outline is a little messy but that's no problem - thanks a lot!

Another satisfied customer! :D
Otherwise, here's another one. I found a version in (what I believe is) the original resolution. Cleaned it up as best I could.

The choppiness on the edges you should be able to get rid of with anti-aliasing. Is there an AA filter for photoshop? I haven't used it in so long. My needs are fairly simple, so I use GIMP.

I tried GIMP once, and found it horribly complicated. I use Paint.NET.
I'd have loved to help but I have all the photoshopping skills of a cow with 10 thumbs.

Nevermind, thought I had that image at a higher resolution somewhere.

I don't think it exists in a higher resolution, does it?

I doubt it would have been for the original Doom, since that was a simpler age, with nice low resolutions.
Did any of the re-releases or compilations have higher resolutions that a screen-grab could be made from?
