After a stupid blunder and failing to get xu4 and U4upgrade mod to work, lets just say it lead to my brother uninstalling Ultima Second Trilogy, so now I lost all my progress and now I have to start the game all over again, and at this point I said no, there is no way I am going to tediously grind for my Virtues, especially giving money to a begger in order to increase my compassion (Doing that made me never want to give money to a beggar in real life) and the sad thing is I was prepared, I was ready to storm through the Dungeons :(

So anyway what did I think about the game so far, it was boring most of the time everyone says this game's morals are incredibly deep and profound and there are moments where it is, but after seeing the Virtues I realize they are not as deep as I thought since most of the Virtues share the same qualities, Not cheating on Blind merchants increases Honor, Honesty, and Justice when it should just be Honesty :P

And this game gets to much Praise for its story which to me its boring, I do not feel immersed, why because this story has no structure, its a free form game where you can play the game at anyway you want to the point of getting the Ultimate Weapons and Armor very early.

RPG elements are very primitave, where I could even fight Dragons and Demons without increasing my stats and only using a normal sword.

Anyway it all boils down to that this game is just too old even with the graphics mod it would still be the same game.

EDIT: I am hoping that Ultima 5 will be better and after playing around with it , it did felt better and I heard the story is the absolute best in the Ultima series.

Ultima to me at least is somewhat of an acquired taste. The only one I tried was Ultima VII and while I did enjoy it to a degree, some of it left me a bit sour, particularly figuring out what to do and not to mention how DOSBox and Exult fail to give me a decently playable experience.

Elmofongo: *snip*
The grinding kinda got to me too after awhile to the point where I quit and decided to take a break. I used to not mind grinding in RPGs, I used to play the Dragon Warrior (or Dragon Quest) games and those were pretty grindy too, but I guess I may have changed since then or perhaps I wasn't in the mood for an RPG at that moment. I still want to play and beat the Ultima series for the classic RPG experience and so I can say I beat the Ultima games, so i'll probably pick it back up again myself.
Really guys did I really deserve that, I just offered my opinion of the game and everyone downrepped me, its like I can't say anything negative :(
why the heck is this down rated?

Fanboys, and yes I always defend games like Resident Evil, but I never downrepped people for not liking it.

I'll support you by saying what I think of the original three Ultima games:
They are the dumbest shit I have ever played and who doesn't think so is either an idiot or a liar.
Great game!. When I first played my brothers copy back in 1985, I played it like Ultima 3. When he got home all virtue's scores were completely down the toilet. I didn't know the premise of the game, man, was he pissed off.
Well, kudos for giving it an honest try.
Ultima V is a significant incline, although it lacks the originality of U4. Especially the combat is less tedious, since the combat system was improved to be more tactical, and there are no random encounters as long as you only travel by day.

Perhaps I was being a bit harsh, remember because I was enraged because it was deleted for stupid reasons, I have lost all the progress I made and now I have to start the game all over again.

And for a game like this how would you react?

Anyway yeah I think I was being too hard on the story, because the Virtues and Quest of becoming the Ultimate good guy (the Avatar) is pretty original and sometimes you feel like you are, but sometimes I just cannot get into it because the game has some annoyances, what threw me off badly was giving money to Beggars where I have to type "Give" and 1 and enter for I don't know how many times until I maxed out my Compassion Virtues and I was patiente doing it, at least with Honesty of not cheating the Blind Merchants at least I was getting some useful regeants and it was shorter.

Mabye I will try to beat it again, but not now, just sometime after I beat Ultima 5,6,7,and 8.

I remember SimonG saying he did not like Dark Souls and no one downrepped him, they just convinced him to keep playing.

Fenixp loves Dragon Age 2 and no one downrepped him.

But me not liking Ultima 4, no excuse, its off to the firing squad for me :P
