mondo84: This is a no judgment zone, AmarKap. You are among friends. :)
This thread wins. I've been on Gog for a while but I've suffered silently with guilt until now. ;)

Same story... I came for 2-3 games but now I find myself steeped in gaming history. I just love having access to so many old games. I was born in the 80s but with Gog I can see how gaming evolved...

I regularly pick up titles just for the soundtrack... this site is awesome for video game music lovers. Sometimes you can get multiple soundtracks for just a few bucks.

People who play old video games are pretty much awesome.

All I know is, if you can be a game addict and get women to pay you for sex then you are my new hero.

I was mostly joking with that, as it's my nickname in real life. Had random chicks continually buy me beers if that counts. lol. I pretty much got drunk for free many times.
What kind of resolution is that?! You are supposed to make ones you at least have a chance of keeping!

Or stick with those you made last year. They have been forgotten on the first day of a year anyway so they are just as good as new ones ;)

AmarKap: You know what is really sad? I don't even play these games...I just want them. I want them on my virtual shelf. It is like collecting baseball cards at this point (well I guess...I've never really collected baseball cards).
Hello ArmaKap,

nice to meet you - and welcome to the club!

A quick look at my GOG-shelf reveals a niffty 350 games.

How many I have actually played, you ask?

Well,...I...[looks down]...you know...[clenches hands]...see, it's not...that easy...[bursts into tears]
Looks it is time for us to create an AGA, anonymous gog (or game) addicts.
Today on my account I have 32 games.

14 are free.

18 game I bought.
In this 18 I had already 7 on CD since I was a kid.
Of the remaining 11 I have played only 2.

So also for me it's like I'm collecting figures.

I understand you!
374 games on GOG. About 40 on Steam
100 Installed on my computer.
Played only a few of them.

I told myself after the Insomnia sale that this was it, I bought at least 20 games since then.

Some time I feel embarrassed but then I think of people like my brother in law who's into restoring antique radios (both the enclosure and the electronic), his basement is filled with old radios that he'll never have time to restore.

Our collections make us happy.

I do wish the game cards and screen captures came with the games or that there was a way to make a wallpaper of our entire libraries.

Gog could create printable cards with game name, genre and image from the box to print and store as a trophy. That would be very cool. You could even shuffle them and pick one randomly if undecided what to play. Well that would be collectors heaven.

EDIT:
I've made a site request of this, hope that it is not duplicate of another one:

That would be fun, and when GOG members cross paths in real life, they could play 'GOG The Gathering', a card game in which you play off your deck against the other person's deck.

Every card would have stats like story, gameplay, innovation, obscurity factor etc.

Hey, that a cool idea! I can picture it right now...

Postal dude went full redneck rampage but the Pharaoh's curse got it him fair and square (or super hexagonal to be more exact). In the mean time the other half of Pharaoh card - Cleopatra - managed to seduce Jack Keane.

Sounds good...

haha! Pharao/Cleopatra will be a hard to beat card, with only its innovation stat being low.
The Jack Keane card will have one special power: when you play it, your opponent is on freeze and can't do anything for xy turns!
