Summit: This is a bit of a long shot but many people, including me had problems with installing Borderlands due to antivirus software (avast in particular). I dunno maybe try to disable your antivirus.
The problem is not installing, it's RUNNING the game... :\

This dude has the same problem as me:

And he's come to the same conclusion as me... I'm pretty fucked off - what a smegging waste of money. I'm going to try and get Steam to refund me. Wish me luck... :\

Id go along the route of product not fit for purpose but i dint fancy your chances, if you payed with paypal you can also dispute it through them but if they do anything it wouldnt surprise me if steam block your whole account.

I've been a good customer. I have about 30+ games and I have never raised a complaint before. I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if they block my account just because I ask nicely to be compensated. I've been a customer for nearly seven years since CS and I've NEVER been banned, blocked or anything from any of the games.

So... Thanks for the worst case scenario but that's just ridiculous.

i meant if you get your money back through paypal, bypassing steam it wouldnt surprize me, then again nothing steam does would suprize me.

You're damned right it isn't your system, I heard it'd be weak (mostly) AMD CPUs. So what the hell? Now I'm fairly sure there's gotta be a solution.

Yeah well, I'm waiting to hear back from Steam about a refund. Fuck 'em I'll just buy a hard copy from EB next time.... IF I get my money back. :\
