Hi all. I have noticed that GOG gives you 3 files, two of them are "bin". I tried to install the game on linux, but when I run "./setup_ut2004-2.bin" (after giving the file excecution permission) it simply tells me from console that it can't excecute the file.

I want to ask, how do I install UT2004 in linux?

Ok. By the way, do you know where is the license number of the game located? I have only the 3 files I mentiones before, and can't find where is the license.

The .sh script and linux installer is not included in the gog version of this game. For linux support you must for now get hold of either the cd or dvd version of the game.

You could vote for GOG to add linux support in the community wishlist:

There is a lot of talk about UT2004 on linux in the Unreal forum. One that might be worth looking at is

I have the original disc version so I can say I have tried getting the GOG version to work but its worth poking around in the relevant forum to find out. If not, I do think throwing wine at the problem is a possible solution, but I not 100% on that.

FYI I think the linux native doesn't support the widescreen hack. At least I couldn't get it to work last time I tried.

I assume you mean the CD Key, those aren't usually included by default as it's only used for playing online. Although, that seems odd for an online only game.

Basically contact GOG support and they'll get you a key. I haven't ever wanted a key and I'm not sure what games I have that would even take a key if I got one. So, perhaps somebody around here knows how exactly to do that.
