Here's an intermediate result: Based on 145 entries in this thread the average GOGer is 27,7 years old... But younger at heart.

33. Young enough to have enjoyed Panzer Dragoon Saga and old enough to have paid €120 for it on eBay >_<

Actually it can go for as much as €250 on eBay so it was a bargain. However the sensible bill paying side of me realises that its still €120 for a Saturn game.

I'm 58 and have been gaming since the Altair days (star trek), my first computer was the Commodore PET...I got into computers because I loved the gaming aspect and have been at it ever since. ;)
Hurray! I can now rest easy as I'm not the old lady of the group. err....maybe the oldest FEMALE but heck, that doesn't count.
All this old gaming stuff got to me and I dug out a game that isn't truly an OLD game IMO but it's not new...Homeworld, a Game of the Year edition I picked up on the cheap some years ago. What a fun game!

That was 1965 and I was a freshman. And Spacewar begat many offspring and now Sins of a Solar Empire.
LOL I was too fast on the keyboard. Catching up on messages and now I see this one. I'm feeling younger every message :)

Hah! You haven't seen me on a really bad day then. There are times when I simply just can't spell -- or at least even when a word is spelt correctly, it just feels wrong to me and I then end up convinced it's spelt incorrectly. But I am mildly dyslexic (more so with numbers though)

OK I should obviously read ALL the new messages before posting. I'm thinking I'm in high school now! :) I will add that my dad, at age 91, enjoys the DS I got him and still plays solitaire on his computers, laptop and desktop. He got into computers as a hobby at the same time I did.

I'm feeling young, 17, though I probably act older seeing as I don't get along with my age group.

Something I've found very interesting in the years I've been playing games online is that the calendar year means less than most think. Someone I've known in the MMO I play, EQ2, for awhile now and the hubby has known in-game for over 3 years, is a great player and from what we know, a great person. Both hubby and I thought he was older than he is, which says something about preconceived ideas of how somone should or shouldn't be at a certain age. Last Winter when I joined his guild and got to know him better I told the hubby I thought he was younger than we assumed, college age...possibly a grad student.
WELL....... did we turn out to be wrong! He's heading into his last year of high school! This is just one example of this type of thing happening to me in a MMO game. On the other side is a player that I thought was still in high school and turned out he was near 30. And so it goes.
Bottom line for me is that chronological age means a lot less than we often think it does. Especially in gaming!
