Sogi-Ya: fuck me, GG has got KOA up for $17 (base game + both expansion packs) and I finally got around to watching a trailer for Orcs and Men ..... god damn it I need more money.

orcishgamer: Wooah, wtf, really? Been waiting for this... why right now???? I have too fucking many games to play!
arrrg, sale only last for 3 more hours .... what the hell am I to decide!?!?!?!!?
I have to agree, had this promo allowed you to choose to purchase any one game of your choice at a PWYW, I'd have been all over it for Div 2 Dev Ver. But I already own multiple copies of the other two games and both of the other versions of Div 2. So I'm not forking out near $20 just to get that. I'd have happily paid $10 for that alone.

Well regular price is $20, so you can always wait for a half off sale.

Which is what I'll probably have to do. But that doesn't change the fact that this deal wasn't well thought out. They could probably have made far more sales had a little more thought gone into it.

Just pass, Christmas is coming up and it'll be on sale again, probably for cheaper. So long as you have something to amuse yourself with in the meantime you don't need it just yet.

That was my reaction as well. Then I just said "Fuck it" and bought it.
I got divine divinity for 1 dollar... out of all deals this one was the best other then the free games.

maycett: I also don't like how they're rereleasing divinity 2 for the 3rd time. Kind of a shitty thing to do. Fortunately in this case they've just added a few bells and whistles that I don't care about at all.
*cough* *cough* The Witcher *cough* *cough* ;-) :-p

(The Witcher -> Echanted Edition -> Director's Cut) Also, historically, it's was not that unusual to release multible editions, granded editions that followed usually were budged/bundle editions with less stuff.

Sometimes it's awesome though. It looks like the Pain Killer HD is going to be awesome. And same goes for DN3D reloaded if they ever finish it.

Don't know how it is with Divine Divinity, but all those were free for whoever owned the game previously. And EE added quite a bit, not just a few bells and whistles.
If you want Divinity 2:DC it's cheaper to get it in the promo than to pro-order it even if you own all the other games.
It's $32 worth of games for $16. Think of it more as a 50% off deal (unless you only want the first two games)

Weren't those free anyway?

All this versions were free updates not standalone re-releases like Divinity (if you wanted the new content you had to buy the game again full price).

It's not really made for people like you and me. I have all three games already DRM free, why the fuck would I pay $20 to get a dev console? I wouldn't.

However there are millions of PC gamers out there who don't own D2 and sales have shown a remarkable ability to get people to pay for shit they normally wouldn't buy.

Just think of it as GOG trying another sale model... kind of like the increasing percentage off sale a while back (I liked that one).

I imagine they have a number of sales that will tell them that it was either comparatively successful or not.
