2011 has been a fantastic year for GOG.com, let's make it even better and make the last push to achieve the 6 million unique downloaded games milestone.

During our presentation at the CD Projekt Fall 2011 Conference we've shared some numbers that show how successful this year was for GOG.com, all that was possible thanks to you - our great community. One of the big milestones we'd like to celebrate with you is the 6 million unique downloaded games! Help us achieve this number and we'll launch a time-limited special offer for all GOG.com users!

Note that when we say "unique games downloaded," that means redownloading games that you have already downloaded before won't increment the counter.

When the counter on the main page of the website hits 6 million, two exciting things will happen. First off, the lucky user who downloaded our 6 millionth unique game will receive everything that's currently in the catalog, absolutely free! Secondly, everyone who has an account on GOG.com will be able to download Broken Sword: Shadow of The Templars Director’s Cut for free, thanks to Sir Charles Cecil and Revolution Software. The offer will be valid only for 48 hours starting from hitting the milestone, so be sure to check GOG regularly or follow us on and [url=https://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook. Let's get cracking to unlock this achievement as soon as possible - it's all in your hands now!
fast computer. enough space. ready to go :) just hope it wont hit 6mil before i awake.
(and yes its 23:29 right now so might be possible)

Way I see it, personally, even if I don't get the big bonanza, we all still get one of the best adventure-games made, and a personal favourite of mine after playing the GBA-version to death.
It's still a fun event though. And I don't know why I'm posting this as it's 1am here, and I got a 6 hour lecture tomorrow.

Vagabond: The counter has sped up. GOG has Florida-d the count.
made me lol
well actually when it goes like this its gonna be atleast 6 more hours. gosh but that counter isnt right.
less than 9,300 to go - so I might still be at w*rk when it happens...
Oops, I didn't take into account the newer data points on my last [2nd] estimate. I added one more.

The new estimate puts the 6M mark around Thu 29 Sep 2011 07:18 AM CDT GMT-5 +/- some error (approx. 7 hours from now). About an hour under my original estimate.

Well, currently, the counter is doing about 0,36 downloads per second. With 7600 downloads left to go, that would mean there's a little bit less than 6 hours left. However, I predict that speed will increase as we get closer to 6 000 000, possibly significantly once we pass 5 999 000.

My guess is that the 6 millionth download will happen some time between 1230 and 1330 CET. I will still be at work then. Fortunately, my wife will not, so she can start the downloader for me.

I have in excess of 130 good old games, the time has come to download the remaining 20-40. ;)

EDIT: That's between 0630-0730 CDT for you Usarians. :)

...when an unbearable waiting time will be rewarded !

I cannot wait to fail in winning the entire catalog and to console myself with Broken Sword...
Well, I just bought myself a 2TB external hard drive. No time like the present to start that long postponed backup.
I've counted that GOG will reach 6M unique games downloaded at 2:19PM (CET). Exactly it shoud be at 2:19:56 (CET).
