SirPrimalform: Does anyone actually use FAT32 for a system drive? Surely Windows XP has to be the oldest OS still in use, and that uses NTFS...
avatar
DukeNukemForever: NTFS was still optional at installation, but I don't know if it was the preferred option. As far as I remember most preconfigured WinXP computers I got in my hand (mostly Notebooks) still used FAT32.

Edit: I wrote stupid things, NTFS was introduced before XP. Removed that part.
AFAIK, NTFS is the heavily recommended option. I think it allows you to use FAT32 if you already have a partition formatted to that.

People with multiboot systems used FAT32 for a long time, because Linux (and other OSs) had trouble with NTFS (the specs of which Microsoft kept secret). Nowadays, Linux can handle NTFS okay, at least the risk of messing something up is smaller than the risk of having problems with FAT32 due to its file size limitations. Of course, the multiboot community has always been a niche, so my answer probably isn't very relevant, but I wanted to show off a little. ;)
News about Necrovision from the facebook-page:
"We've identified the problem with the Necrovision DRM-free version... our Amazon cloud had a 5 gig limit per file and believe it or not the actual Necrovision file exceeds 5 gigs! We're uploading it to another cloud without these limits. We'll post when the file is available for download. Thanks for your patience!"

gameon: The new necrovision link was 1.1gb. I downloaded it earlier, and it was still corrupt.
I would wait for an update on facebook, they posted that message one hour ago and I don't believe they will find another server and upload the file that quick.

Btw, they added Dark Fall 2 Directors Cut as a bonus for everyone who bought the Dark Fall game. GOG has only the regular version, not the DC.

They probably haven't finished putting it up yet. When they were fixing Dark Fall, between the crappy downloader and the actual game.zip being put up, there was a weird corrupted zip file for a while. My guess is that they're still in the process of uploading it.

There's still only one download link. They didn't just zip the games together did they? That would mean that everyone who'd downloaded DF3 already would have to download it again...

Stupidly, yes. From facebook: "The Bonus is now available to Dark Fall purchasers... you also get the second installment in the series, Dark Fall: Lights Out Director's Cut. Please note this is a DRM-Free game only. Both games are archived together in a single download. Enjoy!"

Edit: I will wait and hope they add an additional link. I really can't understand why they want for every release one big package. It makes absolutely no sense and costs them bandwidth.

*facepalm*

They're really quite inept aren't they? Eager to help, but not very good at doing it. :P

Looking at facebook it seems they really try to be helpful, but at some point they don't think twice. As far as I know they started with music bundles and after the first game bundle it's now the second attempt to offer direct downloads for games. It seems they are still in the learning process and offering bigger files then music albums seems still a new experience for them. I'm sure I will get my games like from the first bundle and because they really do their best I have no problem to be patient, but they really need to be better prepared.

I wish to see last Dark Fall game and Lights Out Director's Cut version on GOG.

gameon: Still is..... :(
It has finally been fixed. A 1.8GB zip file containing both installers. So to install the1GB Dark Fall 2 you need 4GB of free space (zipfile+extracted installer+installed game).

Oh well, at least it really is the director's cut, the installer made me think it's the original version at first.
