Psyringe: Well, I can be a pretty obsessive collector myself (there's a reason why I got nearly 4000 computer games in my archive ;)
4000 games. Wow.
then there are these Steam trading cards, which you can ... look at?
They are not different that physical trading cards, which were around long before collectible card games, and far as I know still are more popular than them.

True, but are those actually of interest for adults?

There may actually be some sort of culture gap here. ;) I mean, I saw someone mention "baseball cards" further above. And I know we have annual releases for stickers of all football players here in Germany, which you can collect in an album. I did that myself when I was 10. But that's considered something you kinda grow out of once you realize that you're spending a lot of money for stuff that has no use and just gets replaced every year. I've never seen anything like this here in Germany that was addressed at adults. And if an adult was collecting those football stickers, it would probably look very strange. Not even in a "You play video games? Aren't those for kids?" kind of way, but rather in a "You are 30 and still spend hours playing hopscotch?" kind of way.

Psyringe: I think what makes me wonder about the Steam cards is that they look so obviously like a low-cost way to tie more users to the service without even providing actual, tangible, additional value.
I won't call it valueless. I've made almost $15 out if it, which I used to buy 8 or 9 games & dlc (Mostly on Sale)

Interested only in Macguffin's Curse and Zombie Driver HD, not sure if I'll buy this bundle, will wait for bonuses. :/
Macguffin's Curse made my head hurt by the end of the game.

But I liked the random Psychonauts reference they threw in there.
Hmmm... Krater is the only thing that looks tempting - and even that reeks of co-op and multiplayer a little too much

Psyringe:
I sold a bunch the other week and made about £5 - not bad for very little effort.

Krater is not a multiplayer game at its core, and the MP mode was not added until quite a while after its release.

Ah cool. Then I may have to bag it for that at such a low price
ALL STEAM GAMES & ALL HAVE TRADING CARDS
Hmm, no DRM-free standalone installers then?

These are all Steam keys.

Groupees -does- sell DRM free games but I don't think any of these games have a DRM free version.

That is what I am thinking too. A real shame as I would like to have Zombie Driver and I know it does come DRM-free on GG

Thanks for that, was actually too lazy to check if that's the case (none of the games looks appealing enough to me).
Hmm, more of a Be Mine Steam Exclusive Edition then?

Putting this aside - it does look rather limited for their Special Be Mine though. Maybe it'll improve through great bonuses.

Uh, this Groupees doesn't come with Zombie Driver. It comes with Zombie Driver HD, the remake. The original version of Zombie Driver (which was sold DRM free) isn't available on Steam anymore, but the devs used to give folks a Steam key if you asked them and showed them proof of purchase - so you could get the remake at half price. As far as I know the HD version always required Steam to run.

I think Tower Wars and McGuffin's Curse have DRM free version. Their developers sell them at the Humble store.

Purchase Tower Wars and get it instantly for Windows on Steam!
The Humble Store doesn't sell Tower Wars DRM-free.
