I wasn't here for... three months I guess? (checking) yeah, three months. Without any doubt those were the worst months in my life ever. It's not so bad anymore - I just need to find a new place to live, a new job and lose a few kilos that I gained during this time. Yeah, it sounds a bit overwhelming but believe me I'm not sarcastic - it's really not so bad anymore. I just have to start from the beginning. It's just a challenge and I like challenges.

The moral of my story is well known and pretty simple: good old friends are your friends and they are good ;) And most of those people who you've just met recently are not your friends even though they may seem to be good. They are not. Full stop. And Good Old Games may help you to relieve your stress. Yeah, I'm totally reinventing the wheel here ;)

But the most important thing coming out of my story and I think all of us should follow as a rule: spend a lot of time with people you love. Don't give them a crap like "I will just do this, finish that and arrange something else and then we will have a lot of time for ourselves". No. Spend a lot of time with them right now. RIGHT! NOW! They may be long dead before you finish all those silly tasks you set for yourself.

Actually the last part is not directly my story - it's somebody else who lost a relative recently but seeing her pain I realized that we should all change our priorities and spend more time with people we love.

Anyway, I'm glad that I'm back here. Long lime ago I've promised you another sleuth game like one of those:

And I shall deliver it to you soon!
Good to know things for you are going well (or at least not so bad).
There isn't a better moment to test friendship as when everything goes south. Cherish those who remained at your side and ditch the rest... but don't close the door: you never know when you could find another friend.
Welcome back! I hope your starting over works out.
Welcome back :)
I'm still here so you might want to consider immediately leaving again. :D

That would be way too easy ;)
You've been gone about the same amount of time I've been active here. Well met sir. Good luck in your efforts to achieve a work/life balance. I realized this about 10-15 years ago that in a typical work week, if you're working 10 or so hours a day, with the commute and chores and sleep and other miscellaneous activities, you actually spend more time per week with your colleagues than you do family and close friends. I try to keep that always in the back of my mind when I start to work more or things/people at work start to bother me and I try to go back to that 50/50 (or better) ratio as much as I can.
Good luck to you.
Welcome back, Ghorpm! Glad to hear things are finally going a bit better for you. :)

Hope you'll like this song (while I was reading your post, I though immediately about its lyrics, as they're very related to your story):

Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - 'Don't Give Up'

Wish you all the best, mate!

Welcome back, Ghorpm. :)

Reinventing yourself and starting fresh will be worth the effort! Hang in there.
Well, I'm a traveler and I tend to meet people for just a few days and then never hear from them again. And while I wouldn't call them friends (that word carries a lot of meaning to me) I wouldn't just dismiss them.

Then again, I'm a trusting idiot.

Either way, it's good to be well. Or not so bad.

Thanks for the song. It's been years since I've heard it last time.

Thanks all of you!

Tune relevant. I saw the band live yesterday and I admit without shame that the song nearly welled me up.

"All for the best, or some bizarre test" That's a very good question ;)
