The big day is approaching and everyone is counting hours, minutes and seconds when the GOG staff members will appear in the spotlight! Believe us, we're all excited about this as well, but first things first. Let us give you some details, so everyone knows who, what, where and when.

Who? All of you, our dear users, are invited to watch the live streaming of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference.
What? The live streaming will include presentations by CD Projekt RED with their awesome game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and GOG.com revealing some cool stuff. Both presentations will be in English.
Where? You'll be able to watch both presentations on GOG.com. On Thursday we'll put up a news post with a live stream video window embedded in it for your convenience.
When? The live streaming of CD Projekt RED presentation will start on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. EST (that's 4:00 p.m. GMT - that's 9:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 12:00 p.m. New York, 5:00 p.m. London time or 6:00 p.m. Warsaw time). GOG will hit the stage an hour later at 1:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. GMT).

You may also notice some teaser spots on the front page. These will change during the next three days, so feel free to speculate what's it all about :). See you on Thursday!
The only thing is, if GoG do get Lucasarts it'll probably just be the same catalogue every other digital release company already has. I know it's DRM free etc but if I'd wanted any of them bad enough I'd have picked them up years ago on steam or some such other distribution centre so it's hard to get all that excited.

I have to agree, Lucasarts becoming a partner on GOG is distinctly a non event, I already own the Lucasarts games I want , which by the way, are mostly Star Wars shooters, and I just can't abide adventure games. Still, each to their own if you do like 'em.

Other DD services have but a very small percentage of the gems in LA catalogue. Outlaws, for example, the second hint may have referred to, hasn't been available anywhere for many years, like most of the rest. It is very, very exciting if it's true, and a solid chain of instabuys for many people, myself included.

predcon: I don't suppose anyone guessed Max Payne yet, hey? Although that wasn't really a "dark past worth hiding" situation. It was more like "an unfortunate series of events leading to the climax that was presented at the very beginning of the game".
Whoa, whoa, WHOA.
It's Rockstar. It's Max Payne 2.

Remember "There was a blind spot in my head, a bullet-shaped hole where the answers should be. Call it denial, I wanted to dig inside my skull and scrape out the pain." and "You can't run away from your past, you'll end up running in circles, until you'll fall back to the same hole you were trying to escape from." AND "The past is like a broken mirror - as you (...)".

I'm sorry, I went through this dialog tens of times, so perhaps it just accidental...
But - just look at their website. What elements would you notice and try to mince into clues ? RockSTAR, RDR, Max Payne...
All we need now is a car-related hint.

What game made you fear your past?

Amnesia : The Dark Descent?
You fond out that you took part in atrocities to prevent some supernatural horror from finding and killing you.....

Edit : Maybe not. only released last year....

sajber: What if its the monkey island games? :O It kind of fits...
Yeah, I think the new hint fits MI2 very well... the dream sequence in particular.

The color in the "... fear your past ..." background looks very much like Witcher 1. And since it is after CD Projekt Red conference it is only appropriate to be The Witcher 1!

Quoted for truth.

That said, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but while a general 'Star-Wars' and 'Outlaws/Fullthrottle' seem very reasonable, I must say that these KOTOR suggestions are starting to become very far-fetched indeed. I for one think the most important part of the clue is in the font and possibly in one or two keywords. Guessing KOTOR on this last one just seems downright absurd to me.

We're definately looking at a game where that font fits in.

I think Rockstar was only the publisher, and even then only for the console versions. Remedy and what was left of GOD developed the game.

Lone3wolf: Here's a cold shower for you :

what if they withhold their Star Wars titles...? (Assuming it really is LA being announced)
why that? you can already buy them on Steam ( all the Jedi Knight games, KOTOR 1 and 2 and so on)

And scuttlebutt says you'll have severe problems getting them to run properly...if at all :\

And Steam DRM!!! And whatever DRM LA insist on using too! Screw that for a game of soldiers.
I really hope it's Lucas Arts because I REALLY want to buy Armed and Dangerous, one of the most hilarious and crazy third person shooters side to side with MDK and Giants: Citizen Kabuto.

I mean, that game has a weapon that shoots SHARKS! you can literally shoot sharks at your enemies.

There's no DRM whatsoever on LA games on Steam dude.... basically the old games on steam are DRM-Free. And you can launch them without Steam, too.
How can you DRM a game like Dark Forces that runs on dosbox?
Or KOTOR and Jedi Academy that are games based on quake 3 engine?
