I know the notion of an MMO may run cross-grain for some of you classic gamers, yet I still wonder if some of you out there play it. The biggest draw for me is that I don't have to grind for "levels" (skills, as they're called) because training is done in real-time, offline or on. I can play these old games without feeling like I'm neglecting my progress in Eve.

Plus, it's in space and it's sandbox and there's real risk (if you want it) in death, which raises the ante. I just think it's a terrific fucking game. :) Been playing for about 1.5 years now. If any of you play or want to try it out, give me a shout.

/me slowly raises hand

"my name is reaver894 and im an eve player"

I do like eve, its turned into more of a research project because i was like 2 months old an inhereted the corp i was a member of, after floundering around i seem to have found my feet and the corp is turning a small profit. (Would be bigger if i hadnt also inhereted its debt to a couple of its members)
I applaud you on your courage in admitting it. 'Gratz on getting the ball rolling on the corp. That's always a nice thing. I've a nice little operation tucked away in high-sec, kinda half-indy/half-missioning. 40 members, POS and all that. We also have a wormhole, but I don't much care for it. Too tedious and isolated but without the ability to relax.

Are you a carebear or what? I know people often intend it the term as a pejorative, but I don't. I'm a proud carebear. I don't like chucking my ships away.

we are based in high sec with 3 lowsec systems VERY close, we have some PVP in those and if we have enough pilots on may mine there, having said that we only really have a max of 5 on at any one time, just a small corp unfortunatly.
I /may/ go back after the next update the store left a VERY bad taste in my mouth but I've followed the dev blogs and the change from profit focused to doing what the players have been asking for for years looks promising... provided they follow through.
aaaand I just got offered 30 days for $5 tempting especially since I can earn a billion or 2 in that time...

Well, that counts for somethin. 5 is good enough for a little low-sec roam if you're into that kind of thing. assuming the gates in that area aren't heavily camped. we're in a cul-de-sac, with everything we need. only issue is the distance to a hub--9 jumps. But still not bad.

I know how you feel. In fact, I participated in the riots... well, not really--I flew a couple shuttles over there and watched the fireworks/lag. Quite hilarious. I think the latest post from the CEO shows some positive direction, as does the more practical post about balancing and whatnot. Not that I can fly a supercarrier or anything. But rather than pushing to walk on planets, fixing the stuff that's broken now should be a priority. We'll see.

FUUUUUUUUUUUU, pew pew in the only way ;-)

If You're Happy And You Know It - Pod Amarr.
if you cannot find Caldari, Pod Amarr.
If the Minnie are frisky, Gallente is looking shifty,
Jovians are too risky, Pod Amarr.
Not subscribing atm, but I got few characters that are 3+ year old. Not too tempted to come back after the shop BS.

You should read the CEO's letter it basicly goes "Look I'm a dick and should have listened to the devs rather than forcing them to do what I wanted sorry for it taking us losing 20% of our subs for me to realise this... sooo I'm just gonna let the devs do their thing and actually fix the game this patch"
With the upcoming inferno patch I thought id see if I can lure some fresh meat into the grinder

That vid is the best launcher preview from the test server I have seen.

Oh and for the more analytically minded, one of the best fight vids (battle wasnt recent but vid is new ish) R&K really have thier shit together...

To quickly get off-topic, there's actually an Earth and Beyond emulator available if you'd like to try your hand at the game again.

Also, I would be an EVE Online player - except I have neither the time nor money to dedicate to it. Played the trial, fell in love (so to speak) with the game.
