We've already decorated our tree. We've started the sale. But seems like we're forgetting something.

Oh! That's right! It's not the holidays without a chance to visit GOG.com, looking for new and interesting ways that Coala has photo-chopped wintery iconography into them. It's a tradition that we're continuing for our fourth year!

The contest is simple: go through our catalog; we've edited 12 images, scattered across our wide selection of games, to include obvious holiday references, such as santa hats, Christmas trees, or reindeer. For an example, take a look at one of our screenshots from last year:

When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2012 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalog. The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th 2012 11:59 GMT.

Or, I suppose, on the 21st of December when the world erupts in fire and doom. But if we're still around after that, then we'll end the contest officially on the 24th. ;)

Smolag: So, do we have winners yet?
Not that I've seen - this is the first time I've attempted this contest, so I don't know how they announce it.

They always post in the same thread (a blue text moderator) and there will be a list of names. Kind of odd they have left it a little late to show the winners though. I guess they were busy with christmas like the rest of us.
Just a thought: Did everyone include their forum name when they sent their list? I only sent them the titles I thought were the correct ones (apparently they were), but nothing else. They do have my e-mail address which is the same I used to register here, but I got to thinking if I should have left any additional information too. It's a longshot to win anything anyway, but just in case...

Nope, I didn't include my forum name. I thought they'd just email us if we won. I also used the same email address to send it as the email address for my account though.

I just gave my email address.
However, that does bear a startling resemblance to my GOG username.....
I submitted my answers on Sunday, but just got an e-mail this morning saying saying the message was undeliverable. :(

Oh well... With these sales I pretty much won anyway.

I don't think anybody gave his or hers login name because that was simply not required. When I was sending an email with answers I thought GOG should have come up with some better idea than sending an email but then again winners could use a code (if there is any) as a gift.

Still waiting for the them to announce. Nothing to do here :(

Novotnus: Patrican 1+2 screenshot "Fire in Bergen" [shot #11] looks kind of christmas-y with all that green and red ; )
Haha! A Burning Hellfire Christmas! I don't think anyone thought it was either edited or otherwise "wintry" though.

DProject: I think there was one in Atlantis 2 that may have fooled some. I'm talking about the screenshot in the bottom right corner in the first set of pics - the weird lady with a Rudolph the Reindeer fixation.
Haha! Yeah, she sure has a fixation on ungulate horns of some kind. I don't think anyone was fooled by that one though. I got a second and third opinion, and the comments focused on the fact that the antlers don't in any way resemble reindeer antlers, and no one thought the shot had anything "wintry" about it - if anything, the flowers seem to connote Spring. But I do very much appreciate the effort in pointing it out. It's a funny shot in any case!

Anyway, we may have found them all. But I'll definitely update the list if anyone can think of any I missed.

Anyone know when the winners are going to be announced? Judging from previous hunt I mean, because this is my first hunt on GOG.
Third Strike... the forum seems to eat my postings.

It were the christmas holidays and the gog-guys will need some time to go through the emails and select the correct ones. [edit:] I searched the forums for last years Scavenger Hunt Threat - the winners were informed via e-mail at December 30th. [/edit] Maybe this year they announce the winners at New Years Eve? :-)
