spinefarm: And all of this mean that game don't worth a shit in your eyes if it's not sold for 75% off on Steam... And that is why Valve(Steam) can do what they want with prices :)
I bet your parents never gave you a present you would not have bought for yourself when you were little but enjoyed having it for free(This is also a double argument because sales make games available to people who don't have much money to spend on video games or are you so full of yourself that you can't stand other people enjoying the games you like too?).
I bet you would never buy the cheap groceries because paying less for something automatically means the product doesn't have any value for you according to you.
I bet you never played a flashgame for free and enjoyed it even though you wouldn't have paid for playing it.

You are a massive hypocrite, contradict yourself every 3 posts and cherrypick arguments to reply to. You don't even bother with tackling the strong arguments ITT because somewhere deep inyourself you just gotta know that you are fighting a lost position.

I'm a massive hypocrat cause I don't buy cheap game like Orcs Must Die on sale :) Yeah I'm a hyprocat then :)
OMD Release Date: 11 Oct 2011 and you buy only on sale cause?
A) You like it,but can't afford it(If you can give 4 euro you can give 10)
B) You are greedy and you want more and more
C) both :)

Don't bet on anything cause you will loose a lot.
So you gonna buy cheap groceries just cause they are cheap... Yeah...and you don't mind eating shits than :)

Yes, because noodles with the following ingredients: 100% durum wheat semolina for 0.99€ are obviously inferior to brand-name product noodles for 2.39€ containing exactly the same most likely from the same field.

But I don't want you to stay alone on your ad hominem train so I just tell you that you and you alone must be the perfect person to judge wether someone is "eating shits" since you contain more "shits" than anyone I know could eat in a lifetime.

You still cherrypick, step it up SMILEY

Cheese with milk or with dry milk are the same right :) Brands do make the price bigger...but so does the quality :)
Or let me explain to you on a simple cheapass language: Apple products are overpriced and people still buy them even with better alternatives in hardware specs on the market. But you can't compare an Acer laptop to MacBook Pro in quality of making. You can't compare a Samsung smartphone to iPhone on that same point... You see the diff now?
That is why it's funny that you put the groceries in the conversation.

In your mind a game like Baldur's Gate don't deserve a 9.99$ price cause it is old and don't have 75% off disscount :)

Btw I have a question for you, cause you think TET & GOG are evil. Does this looks normal for you:
Alan Wake 27,99€
Alan Wake Collector's Edition 31,99€
Alan Wake Collector's Edition Extras 9,99€ (A dev video,OST & PDF Artbook)

See something wrong in this 3 prices?

I don't even get what you are trying to tell me and switching from groceries to the electronics brand Apple when we are actually talking about video games is likely to cause confusion too.

CITATION NEEDED

I bought baldur's gate and many other old games for even more than 9.99$ because I love boxed games. I even pledge money on kickstarter games which aren't even alpha knowing that my money will go directly to the developers. I just don't have enough intrest in some games to buy them for full price and there is no rational argument in this whole thread why someone should not buy them when they are on sale. WHO EXACTLY AND PLEASE ANWSER THIS QUESTION is the loser(or looser as you'd write it) when a sale has been made that would've otherwise never happened? The Developer? I don't think so Tim. The Publisher? I don't think so Tim.
ME? I DON'T THINK SO TIM.

You still didn't tell me wether you never played a free game(flashgames for example) and enjoyed? And don't make a fool out of yourself and tell me that you would've paid 20$ for every flashgame out there you ever played that entertained you.

You still didn't tell me wether you enjoy presents(which usually don't even cost anything)

You still didn't tell me wether you never played a game of hide and seek when you were younger and had fun.

No I don't see anything wrong. Do you scream at the cashier just because one bottle of water costs 0.50€ and 4 bottles just 1.50€? The customer get's rewarded for directly buying the director's edition just as you would be rewarded for buying you water bottles in bulk instead of one by one.

You are still an elitist asshat who tries to tell people how much they should pay for their games or else they will never have fun.

eh I haven't lost any "emotional connection" to games now that they are cheaper, so I'm also on the side that that argument is a colossal plate of hot poop.

I did not like the film but that video was funny.

No. I appreciate the time you take replying to my opinion, I'd appreciate the time you take reading it even more.

gameon: Yeah the movie was one of my faves.

yeah, i feel a bit guilty about being a ninja. But i also did that competition and dished out a few games also, so hopefully things will even out. (cities in motion on gamersgate is also available on the community gifting thread)

Back on topic, i think sales are good for gamers, but i think sales should be limited time things.
About the ninja skills... don't feel bad... I've did a giveaway last month... and it was fun for sure :D

Sales haves pros & cons... They make games available for more gamers... but so far they make the game quality worst... We've see a lot of new games shreded to pieces for bigger profit. And trust me people in corporations like Ubisoft/EA/Microsoft are good in math...

For instance....
The lowest price for Assassin's Creed Revelations was 24.99$ (50% off) and the price of the 3 DLC's are exactly 24.99$(None of the DLC's went on sale so far) :) So if you want to have the complete experience of this lovely game you still pay 50 $ :)
And yes we have: Assassin's Creed Revelations - Gold Edition with 3 DLC"s - 50$

See my point? They still take your money for a regular price...but with a smoother way :D

gameon: I know exactly what thats like. Theres a clothes store in my country that has tags with 60% off etc on their items. The thing is though everything says that (they are already cheap, because their products are made in poorer countries and are cheap to produce) this company buys brands, and then exclusively sells them in their own stores, dictating prices.

Obviously it could go the other way and for example a games company could say sale, even though they would be charging you more.
That is why Steam can afford those sales :) They are overpicing it at first... and then people say: Yey good Steam...making so many sales for us :)
Btw Lucid was on sale 2 weeks ago I think(Something like 2 euro)...I guess that don't help much on the sales...but everybody got a free Lucid key from the Devs....same as Faerie Solitaire ;)
Well... This debate is interesting, but there is something that we don´t know... This "special discount sales" is something Steam does by itself?, I mean, something imposed to the publishers by contract? If this is true, I agree 100% with Gillaume.

Every big company no matter is it Steam/Wallmart...etc. sign deals like that with the Publishers/Firms. They say: If you want us to sell ur product,we give this amount of the profit and you cover the 50-75% discounts.
If someone don't think this is the case... he needs to open his eyes :)

And btw this way: Yes you sale more product... but with less profit. cause the diff you pay from your own pocket ;) And I do believe Gillaume knows how Steam operate with the contract on Witcher 1 & 2 ;)
The lowest price for Witcher 2 was 23.79$ on Steam around Christmas...
