What's the deal with them releasing new titles. Isn't this suppose to be the point of GOG, to release good old games that means something, to bring nostalgia and their extras. It is becoming more current with newer games, abandoning the idea of Good Old Games!

I understand the business part of making money, but the same time, it is not following the original purpose.

They should release a new website for newer games, maybe call it GoodNewGames! I know its a bad title.

Rebranded. GOG just means GOG now.

GOG has expressed that with their new focus on offering indie and AAA games (DRM-free and content-complete, of course), GOG doesn't stand for "Good Old Games" anymore.

Consider GOG as Geeh-Oh-Geeh-dot-com now.

I always just pronounce it Gog. Like God with a g.

if you want, just look at it like they sell new games that they imagine will be good old games in a few years.

Maybe switch to Magog? Modern And Good Old Games!

GEICO = Government Employees Insurance COmpany. Now they sell to every old Dick and Jane.

KFC = Kentucky Fried Chicken. Sometimes the chicken is GRILLED.

This rebranding is not unprecedented. Sometimes the name of your company is just too shortsighted to be sustainable over a long period of time. Options are usually to change the name or just ignore it.

They need to make money too.. feed their family

Maybe, just maybe....

- old games are possibly becoming harder to source, given such things such as the rats nest of company closures, takeovers, mergers, and expired licenses.

- some rights holders of older games just aren't interested - period.

- newer games may offer a larger profit margin and/or a higher turnover - and GOG is in the business of selling games.

And like the second Google suggestion for the entry "gog":) I just assumed that it was to prevent the creation of 10,000 threads just like this...

Doesn't bother me. At least they'll make sure each game sold on here is DRM free, otherwise it's not sold on here...

At this point that's pretty much the only thing they haven't changed about the site.
