<span class="bold">[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/seven_kingdoms_ancient_adversaries]Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries, an incredible blend of population and city management, trade, espionage, diplomacy and combat, is only $2.39 for the next 24 hours.

A long, long time ago, when people lived among gods and monsters, seven kingdoms struggled for rule over the land. Lead one of those civilizations to glory through sophisticated trade, diplomacy, espionage, and conquest. Seven Kingdoms is a real-time mix of empire building and RTS combat, but the unique ideas make it more than a simple hybrid--it’s a deeply satisfying strategy which will require planning, a strong economy, and, if you choose to, fighting. Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries is a patched, updated and re-released version of the original game Seven Kingdoms.

The deep plots, rich characters, and Byzantine double-dealing remind us of a certain well-known fantasy series that’s just started its second season up in America, so we thought this would be a fantastic chance for you to play something like a “Game of Things that Kings Sit On”, if you know what we mean. ;)

The complexity of Seven Kingdoms allows you to achieve your goals in multiple ways, but there is only one way you can get this Gem for $2.39: it’s right here on GOG.com, for the next 24 hours.
Promo? In the middle of the week? Groovy :)

GOG has been doing it since January.
Good RTS, already own it of course.

Though I thought the sequel was a bit more fun, with being able to play as mythological creatures.

Well no, it's open-source, but yes, you can download the version without original music freely.

gameon: It actually looks like it is from checking that website. Kinda sucks for us if its true.
Why?

Why?

gameon: Because we'd be paying for something thats free somewhere else. Legally free.
The only thing on GOG that is "freeware", are the free games. If it's being legally sold here, it's not freeware.

Actually, it's been apparently open-sourced by creators. It's not impossible for them to sell it and release it free of charge at the same time, they can do whatever they want with it.
Ah, GOG. You people are dead set against me cutting down my playlist in the least aren't you. Yah, I thought so.
Are their a campaign in this game? or is it just play vs cpu on some random map?

gameon: Sure. Ok, i see that you get more with the GOG.com version. I'm sure some people will get it. I guess i'll pass on this one. Sorry if i've put any one off buying it.
If you consider money spent on a good game wasted, only because it is free somewhere else, you pretty much missed the point.
