michaelleung: I honestly couldn't give a rat's ass about a difference between a 2 and a II. Seriously, if you're riled up about such a trivial matter, you should probably stay at home more. Or at least, don't tell the Internet about it. Usually we mock you in private.
Oh and honorbuddy, that's exactly what I though when I read this thread.

If you don't give a rat's ass, is your opinion and yours only. Be a an adult and respect others opinions to. Let's forget about Broken Sword and let's focus on EarthWorm Jim who has two very different naming:
GOG: Earthworm Jim 1 + 2
Original name: Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 - The Whole Can 'O Worm
Maybe some people want to keep an accurate game collection (name including), so please if you are not interested, ignore the subject.
Seriously, it's just a name, for crying out loud. Sure, it would be nice to have an accurate name, but most people here have never even heard of the games here, so GOG obviously thought it would be best to make the names clearer to people who are not fans of the game since the beginning.

sheepdragon: This is an affront to awesome powers of the ancient art of placing the correct usage of the words used to name the pieces of software used on an electronic device containing microprocessors and circuit boards and hard drives that to this day have normally been storing data using magnetism and some crap I've forgotten and will now probably replaced for solid state discs that is a lot faster so you can play with the already mentioned pieces of software called games faster which are played while watching the screen and using peripherals such as a mouse and a keyboard and gamepad and a joystick and holy crap I think I need some punctuation here but I cannot be bothered and I have anyway long forgotten what the hell I am talking about so good night.
Wait, what?

The ironic thing is, your post makes just as much sense as this topic. ;-)

Yes, it will be nice to have an accurate naming system. For me it's a wish, but don't get me wrong, it's not critical. I can live without it and chautemoc said it right: the games themselves are more important. :)
Oh... and to give you a real case scenario. Some people may be confused and ask a justified question:

That was question about whether or not GOG was selling the EJ Special Edition version, which is a legitimate question. It really had nothing to do with the correct naming of the collection.
For the record, I believe the "Whole Can o' Worms" edition was only called that in its original boxed retail release, all later releases of the collection have dropped that from the name. I have seen the same thing that GOG is selling on the "10 bucks or less" rack at my local mega mart as recently as last week.

The question would not have been pushed if the game was named correctly: "Whole Can o' Worms". I thought that this was obvious.

Have you even consider that just perhaps, the names are the way they are because the IP holder suggested they be that way? Your example of "Whole Can o' Worms", for example, is superfluous. The games is still just EWJ 1+2. The addition of that marketing tag line does not make the game any better or different. So it could just very well be, that the IP holder decided it simply wasn't needed.
Then again, GOG staffers may have decided the same, especially in consideration of the small images they use in their catalogue. But at the end of the day, what does it really matter? The game is already readily identifiable. It's not like they took the name Earthworm Jim (or whatever else) and then completely changed it to Marsslug Bob for example. If they had done that, then you'd have had a valid point.
So much frustration and anger from some people :)
So maybe its time to chill out and let's enjoy our GOG games.
TOPIC CLOSED :)

Sorry, I wasn't upset or anything, I was just pointing out something funny that I thought. Also, I think you just created my new internet name, pornoduffy is about 50 times better than honorbuddy.
Meh, Broken Sword titles, who cares (well, apart from .. obvious)
But Earthworm Jim name seems to be ... Err ... Different. I wanted to say 'it's a valid remark', but then I noticed it's basically about keeping the sub-title (or how you engish folks call that), and yes, that probably really should be kept, thou it's not really an issue...
