Question to Vitek: How is voting for no lynch the town's "only option to kill scums?" The scums aren't going to kill themselves, so I imagine NOT voting no lynch would be the better option.

Question to gameon: What justification do you have for your vote change?

I'm getting a vague feeling of this as well. Though I'd say it's more likely that, as you said, he's an experienced player trying to keep things moving.

Either you think someone is scum and then vote him or you find noone scummy, then you could have option of choosing nolynch. And I was serious that I can't tell if you were serious. From your strong advocation of nolynch and mocking me as genius and sage because I encouraged people to play and your defeatism about finding scum, I wasn't sure if you are not just joking around.

Fighting against nolynch the very first day sounds like sacrificing innocents for the sake of just voting.

You seem to be the person who'd kill an entire squad if you suspect one member to be a zombie.
I prefer to vote wisely. Never said I'll always use nolynch, but I'm not a barbarian to just lynch the first guy who seems suspecious without further proof or just for the sake of lynching.

First day is to study the entourage, and for what I see, you're very easily influenced.
I'd recommend you relax and take it easy... We're all in the same situation, and one of us won't survive the night, so let's not make it 2, shall we ?

We need to use the vote otherwise we are wasting the main power the town have, unless we have a vig on our side, theres nothing we can use apart from the vote to rid the mafia from the game.

With the mod opting for a "simpler" setup im going to guess we only have basic roles such as cop,doc,RB maybe a tracker or some variant. Setup probably being a bog standard 9-3 so we need to use our vote power wisely and get a correct result within 3 days.

So I gotta be honest, I haven't played mafia a whole lot (played quite a bit of The Resistance though! fun stuff), and I've been trying to catch up on the last few pages.
All the stuff about throwing people in volcanoes confused the heck outta me (and the crazy flavour text! much appreciated baz, but confusing for a first-timer), but I think I'm up to speed.

As for the whole lynch / nolynch debate, seems to my untrained eye that we as townies (coz OBVIOUSLY we're ALL townies... koff koff) unfortunately have to vote to lynch someone during the day. Otherwise, the scumm will just keep killing at night, and we'll be none the wiser. I guess we could try to pick up on changes in tone after a night killing, but that seems pretty hard?

As for suspicions, well, in terms of anti-suspicions, I'm inclined to add Vitek to my "possibly trustworthy" list. He seems okay with lynching. If he were scumm, there's a possibility that a fellow scumm-ee would by lynched. I guess my logic basically boils down to, "scumm wouldn't push to lynch".
Or am I a victim of reverse psychology? =)

As for nolynch, I think watching the nightkills and what people say or do(or don't say/do) could also be helpful to us as well....so maybe a nolynch would be the best way to go for Day 1. I dunno if I want to switch my vote though after all the hard work(read back a bit) it took me to come to it.

I'm starting to question the use and very purpose of the nolynch command, if everybody thinks we should always lynch somebody no matter what...

Well, there was no bandwagon to jump on. He didn't jump on it, he tried to create it. ;-)

Since it's a psychological waiting game at this point, I advice everybody or at least the majority to vote nolynch so that we can just move on with the game and let night happen.
Then, when the game really begins, can we choose to lynch people.

Otherwise it's gonna take eternity to just start the game.

Did you vote that way already or not? If not then why not lead by example? I might vote nolynch of enough people swing that way, if only to get things going.......but for now i'll keep my vote.
