I recently entered a giveaway unaware that the game used the starforce drm. I've reached a point in gaming where I no longer tolerate drm. Even for free games. So with grynn's permission I will pass the game on.

But it must be won. I've attached a pic of my bookmark toolbar. The person who correctly identifies the most icons wins (identify which website each icon is for). In case of a tie, I'll roll some dragon dice to determine winner. PM me your answers. Please do not share answers with others. The contest will run for seven days from the time of this posting. Countdown Thanks go to grynn for providing the game.

You can add to your answers over time. PM some today. Send more as they come to you.

For the icons which are duplicates: You'll need to tell me what the initials mean. For example #14 and #37 share an icon. To answer #37, you'll need to tell me what OE stands for. There are some clues in the way I've grouped the icons. There are associations which when found, may help you unlock neighboring icons.

Pacific Storm Allies
Requires Gamersgate
Uses Starforce DRM

* Disclaimer: If for whatever reason the game code is irredeemable, I am unable to provide a replacement. Apologies if that is the case. It is highly unlikely, but since I am exceedingly cash poor I must cover my arse.

+1 for you. I'm not in, but a cool gesture on your part to put the game up for grabs.
Thanks Coelocanth. But I just couldn't let the game go unplayed.
It's grynn who allowed this to happen by being the one to offer the game.
Bump for visibility
No-ones sent a PM yet. It may be that it takes just the identification of one icon to win. Surely there must be someone who wants this game who knows at least one of those icons? At least 6 of them should be pretty common.
Sent mine in. Thanks for the giveaway!
Wohoo, we have a contest. Two entries with five days remaining.

4 days remain.
17 hours remain
9 hours remain.
Too bad I have not seen it. Or else I would have entered and posted in the giveaway thread. :) Still thanks for doing this. ;)
Oh gheez apologies! I was sure I'd posted this! I clearly recall writing it. And I got a note with stats right here. Had too many windows open and was awake for two days. Things got a bit wild. Outright intense at times, mumble and skype sessions, PMs, emails, and all the rest. New things coming in as old are still in the queue. I got swept up in the revolution and more. Is no excuse. But I'm sorry, it wasn't my intent that anyone should have to wait overlong.

Thanks to everyone who entered! Licurg, gameon, adambiser, ZPavelZ.

adambiser won with 16 out of 40 answers. Congrats. I've private-messaged the code.

With just four participating, the "familiarity stats" won't reveal much.
But I was curious anyhow...

Everyone got Facebook, Twitter, Wiki, Netflix, G-Mail and GOG.
One of the four missed YouTube. Only two got Google. Two were able to identify the US Gov icon. And three got History and CBS. Only the winner was able to identify Xfinity, PhotoBucket, Daz3D, ModDB, and Battle for Wesnoth.

I figured there to be some icons that very few would get. With different people likely getting different ones. There were some clues of sorts. Sometimes one icon might give you idea for whats next door. Sometimes not. I might do this again using the task bar icons. But with with GOGs as prize. A bigger population will provide more interesting results.

The forum might have eaten your post. It seems to be doing that again here lately. I followed a reply to a post I made in the playblink thread and the post just wasn't there.

Thank you for the game! It redeemed just fine. :)
Ahh.

Cool! Enjoy! Thanks for playing! Nice job identifying so many icons.
You appear to know your way round the net :~)

I'll have to check out those two Civ4 mods. That's a game I play very often, but I've never looked into the mod scene for it.
