macuahuitlgog: If you want to exchange a game for blue coins at Gamersgate, what reason do you need to give Gamersgate? I'm sure you can't just say, this game really sucks.
Once you've used a product with DRM, the only time they will give a refund is if you can prove it still does not work after contacting both GamersGate and the developer/publisher. Saying this game sucks, isn't going to get you a refund for such games.

Gremmi: I agree with the sentiment (always easier to argue the case face to face than via international e-mail), but it should be noted that (in the UK at least) the vast majority of stores won't accept opened PC games returns under any circumstances - even a scratched or damaged disc will usually result in an exchange.

GameRager: bUY A NEW COPY OF A GAME, AND TEST IT OUT. iF YOU DON'T LIKE IT AND WANT TO RETURN IT TAKE IT BACK FOR AN EXCHANGE....keep your receipt & unopened new game copy AND GO HOME. gO BACK THE NEXT DAY WITH THE UNOPENED NEW COPY THEY GAVE YOU AND THEY'LL REFUND IT. tHEY CAN ONLY REFUND ON unopened NEW COPIES, YOU SEE, AND BY EXCHANGING YOUR OPENED ONE FOR A NEW UNOPENED ONE AND COMING BACK with that unopened copy THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REFUND YOU YOUR MONEY.
This goes back to my SNES days.

*Walks through mall with completed Zelda game and goes into KB Toys "Yes, I'd like to exchange this for another copy, this one does not work."*

*Gets sealed copy and goes next door to Electronics Boutique
"I'm terribly sorry, I don't have a receipt as this was a gift but I already own this game and would like to exchange it for a different one."*

Naw with GG I had three, Dimensity wouldn't work because it required a 64-bit processor with SSE2.

Another one I had problems with that I didn't struggle to try and get work because several days later I got an completely updated version of the same game that worked first try.

And the last was just a bad game - it ran well enough but it felt very much like glitchy alpha rather than a complete production.

The latter two they allowed me to gift.

Which is fine by me because I hate holding onto things that I'll never use if someone else can use them.
