What game is that?

This seemed as good of thread to post it in as any. :-D I don't know what game that is either. Would help if I could, sorry AndersRickne.

I do not recall a character named Clint in Desperados. Of course I only played Desperados 1, so I may be wrong. Chances are, GameRager, you are confusing Clint with Cooper (Cooper as in "Twin Peaks: I'm really worried about Coop!") :-D

No, I do not believe you, you just use that excuse to post youtube links whenever you post :-D Just kidding.

Okay, enough kidding. Seeing the forum, AndersRickne is probably asking about Ultima VII. Since I have not played Ultima VII (or any Ultima games for that matter), I can't help you, Anders, but maybe you can check the walkthrough on gamefaqs?

EDIT: never mind my erroneous directions; see this post instead.

Arkose: The Golden Ankh is docked in Britain (the town where you met Lord British), not Trinsic (the town where you started); were you trying to board the wrong ship? From memory the Golden Ankh is at the harbour area on the east side of Britain, but I may be wrong about that.

Once you have the matching deed for a ship you can simply interact with the ship to climb on board. The same goes for carts.
Sorry but I can't help this...

You can't use a ship or cart without holding the matching deed (I'm not sure whether you can take it from the seller's corpse). Stealing does work for almost everything else but is generally discouraged by the game's mechanics (your party members will get upset when you steal unless you do it in a certain way) since you are supposed to be a champion of the Virtues and all that. :)

Sounds lame. I'll take my loose morality system games over that any day.

(In all seriousness the games might be ok but I like being able to be free to pick a moral compass of my own and play that way in an RPG and not have to follow what seems to me to be "Lord British" shoehorning his own moralities into my gameplay. BTW is it true most of the games are unbeatable/unfinishable i.e. getting the "true" ending if you don't follow the virtues closely? I heard they are that way, at any rate.)

Yeah, the virtues are kind of the whole entire point of Ultima. You absolutely can't play shades of grey in these games. It's what makes them kind of unique (hell, Ultima 4 literally doesn't have a plot beyond "be a good person").

EDIT: Sorry, forgot about the ban on offtopic chatter in questions. My sincere apologies.

Reminds me of all the christian overtones in the Wardrobe books.

Hi. You are (again) posting on the wrong forum. Use game specific one, not general.

Ultima VII

First off, The Golden Ankh belongs to Lord British, so you don't need to buy the ship. LB lets you borrow it for the whole time you are in Britannia. The ship, however, is not in Britain, and the journey to it is dangerous, so be sure to arm yourself and your companions before you go. You need to leave Britain and go toward the town of Cove.

On the road, you will find it goes north into some swampy areas. Eventually you will find a sign that points toward a town called Vesper in the desert. Head to the desert area and when you arrive in the desert, go all the way south until you find the town of Vesper. This town is easily recognizable by first being the only town in the desert and second being split between humans and gargoyles.

Go the the dock south of Vesper and you will find The Golden Ankh. If you do get lost, just look at the map and head for the desert.
As said the Golden Ankh is in Vesper.
To 'use' it just double-click on the sail (while the deed is in your inventory).
