RowdyRodimus: The game I hate the most in the history of gaming was also one of the most highly respected games of the last decade (or so it seems) and that's Braid. It was horribly pretentious and just pissed me off to no end that I wasted 15 bucks on a game that basically said "if you don't find me to be deep and meaningfull, you're an idiot".
That's not a problem. I know plenty of people who hated Braid. I just couldn't figure out how to get past the levels. My brain doesn't work like that.

And I will defend BioShock to the end.

I don't blame you. I bought it a couple of weeks ago because everyone raved about it and I feel I would've been better off getting a few games here. I just can't get into it at all.
While I actually liked the story, Bioshock was just too repetitive for me. About as repetitive as Assassin's Creed IMO, but at least that game was over just as I began to really feel bored.

Also, Fable was way too bland and shallow. Had to use all of my willpower to play until the end.

And then, there's Deus Ex. I don't hate it, and I see it's merits, but I just couldn't get into it as most people did. I was specially disappointed by the story (the ending choices were pretty cool, though).

chad: Oblivion.
I agree with this. I managed to play through the tutorial dungeon, but got bored of it soon after that. Maybe it's because I was playing on the 360 though?
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. What could you do to screw up a perfectly good RPG? Add an irritating time system!
definitely agree with Majora's Mask

+1 , Ocarina of Time FTW
I feel like everyone reading this topic will have two reactions:
"Yeah, that game sucks! Thank God I'm not the only one!"
"What? Why would anyone hate this game? This is blasphemy!"

Crassmaster: Crysis. What an absolute turd of a game. I didn't even finish it. Braindead AI, ridiculously stupid story, just a pointless waste of system resources.
I absolutely agree. After 2 hours of it, since I thought the game would actually get better, I threw it in the bin. It's an extremely shallow game that despite your best efforts to make it interesting, still becomes boring.

It's the only time I thought a setting so beautiful in a game was so boring. I'm kind of glad Crytek has moved away from the PC somewhat, saves us from the games they churn out. Far Cry was only a bit better.

Filthgrinder: So, what game(s) can't you stand or hate, but for some reason "everyone" loves it / them?
World of Warcraft. It's the most time consuming, repetitive bore I've ever payed money for. Even if it was free, I wouldn't play it.

That's to be expected though.
Final Fantasy 12- I've at least enjoyed most of the the series, but 12 was so bad that I didn't even bother with 13. 12 had awful character development, boring pacing, and tedious dungeons/gameplay.

Syberia- a niche title, but probably popular here at least. I love adventure games, but absolutely hated this one. Really, just couldn't stand it. I think the sideplot and the seeming pointlessness of the main quest did it for me. I mean, really, mammoths?

As a follow up, would anyone want to make an inverse of this topic? As in, games you love that everyone seems to hate?
