InF3Ktion: Unfortunately that was a year ago. Usually I save those, but for some reason that one is MIA. But I do have the PayPal invoice. That should do the trick, one would think !

Tom
It really looks like you are not using the same account. This one was registered in April 2012 so it is not possible to have game bought in March 2011 there.
Yes ... I understand that it appears to be Incorrect. But all of the info from my PayPal account, and my email account vs when I came here and signed in to download the game again. It all jives. I would like to show you my PayPal info, just to much that i don't want anyone to see !

I guess i really do not expect anyone to believe me, being a newcomer and all. I was really just wondering if anyone had a similar experience. I'm guessing not.

The bottom line is that i purchased the game and can prove it ! And I have an account. I just need a DL link and would prefer to have it linked to my account like it should have been.

It really should not be that difficult. The issue that i have at the moment is the COG has not attempted to respond to me !

Tom
OP: It really does seem like you're in the wrong account. Is it possible that the GOG account you bought the game on is registered to an email address other than the one you have your paypal account on.

The fact that the GOG account you're currently on has the same email address as your paypal account doesn't necessarily mean this is the account you bought the game on.

InF3Ktion: COG
What's that all about?
You're simply login to wrong account. You bought the game in Mac 2011 but the account you currently login right now is dated from April 2012. To access your game, you need to login to the account that you used to bought the game.

Is this the same account that you used and purchased the game a year ago?
I suppose it is possible, but if that was the case the old email address would be irretrievable due to a change in ISP and the email is gone (Thats why i use free email now). But I have not change my email address in paypal or ebay in 8 + years.

Anyhow, either way .... I purchased it and just looking to get a DL link and get it attached to my account here that I have now. But I suppose thats between me and COG.

Like I stated before ... Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this and/or how long does it take for support to respond.

I do thank everyone for their input 1

ps ... still not sure what "/me wondering if TC be trolling" but maybe it was not meant for me !

Tom
If you don't get a response from support soon, send them another ticket and include your paypal receipt for the game. Hopefully it will be resolved quickly! Did you buy any other games on GOG or just TA?

But you are not going to ban me for that, are you? :-P

The bottom line is that you purchased the game on a different account. GOG can help you retrieve that account, but they will not "merge" accounts or transfer one account to another (afaik).

Having a paypal account only shows who paid for it, not who bought it. While those usually are the same person, it doesn't give you as the payer a contractual claim for the service purchased with that paypal money. That claim only has the "buyer". Paypal doesn't prove who the contractual partner is, only who paid for it. That is why you need to keep those emails.

GOG has a very good costumer support, especially when it comes to billing issues. But it isn't their job to do their customers book-keeping.

Apparently it wasn't. That's why I'm afraid...

Did I perform well with grammar and spelling this time? :-)

InF3Ktion: Actually ... I should have added more info, my apologies !

Yes ... I actually purchased the game in March or 2011 and downloaded it ... installed and played it. Now that I have upgraded my PC, I want to install again and cannot find it in my account. Well ... cannot find it is inaccurate ! IT NOT THERE ! (Not yelling) ha

Thanks guys for the welcome ....

Tom
I just got back to you regarding the ticket, but in case you look at the forums more often than your mailbox... ;)

We have found your payment but, since we used a different system back in 2011, we will need help from our devs to link the payment to the appropriate order (which was obviously made on a different, older account).
Before one of them can get to the office (it's morning over here). could you check your mailboxes and look for the order confirmation e-mail you should have gotten from us in March 2011?

Oh, and sorry about the slight delay, we're dealing with a backlog of e-mails following a national holiday, and a pair of support folk who couldn't come to work until today... ;)

The EnigmaticT (part of GOG, responsible for community) addressed you in an edit, which you might have missed, leaving instructions on what to do.

TheEnigmaticT: To the OP: sorry to hear that you're having troubles, but it definitely sounds like you are not logged into the account you bought the game with. I'd suggest dropping another note to Support and checking any other email addresses you may have to see if your account info and receipt are there.
To TET: It seems that checking the original Email is not an option:

InF3Ktion: old email address would be irretrievable due to a change in ISP
What confuses me most is that InF3Ktion should certainly know if this is a new account or not. After all, new account log in data doesn't just spawn out of thin air, so there's basically two possibilities with two different solutions:

a) InF3Ktion created a new account - He would have to try and retrieve the data for his old account with GOG.

b) InF3Ktion is using the old original account and there's a strange bug that set his account creation to the first forum post date and stripped him from his games - Should be easy enough to check by GOG.

Edit:
Evil Firek passing by me on the Internet data highway while I'm still typing and copy pasting up my posting :p

Likely won't work since he stated that the old Email Address was lost:

You don't actually need that old email account to be active in order to login on GOG.
But you do need to know the email name and the password you used on GOG. If you do remember that (many use similar passwords for multiple accounts, just try some) you can login on that account and then you can change the email on it.

Just missed the comma after Apparently, but other than that, great! :D
Thanks Firek ...

I replied to your email.

I want to thank everyone for their input. I'm sure the COG team will get this taken care of.

Lesson learned !

I should be seeing you guys around here more often.

Thanks
