Have you thought about replaying Morrowind, or perhaps playing it for the first time? Now's a pretty good time to do just that. Why you ask? This is why. Thanks to the fantastic work of community, and thanks to Kingpix who has created this compilation, everyone can have a Morrowind that looks really bloody fantastic (nearly Skyrim level of fantastic, really,) all the most important mods packed into the compilation, coming with an automatic installer (yes, it's fully automatic now - sometimes it'll ask you for your intended resolution or path to Morrowind, but that's it!) You still need to read readme if just to install corret prerequisities (DirectX, .NET framework, C++ redistributable,) but it has never been easier.
Anyway, this mod obviously adds some graphics tweaks. And major ones at that. It adds dynamic shadows (No kidding,) very light depth of field (note the blurred pole in the lower part of screenshot) and godrays, most of it optional. And obviously, distant land is added as well - I was always afraid that this change would somehow take away some of the game's charm, but Morrowind again proves to be timeless, and by the very design of the island actually manages to hide everything from your sight. It's really quite clever, makes me wondering if it weren't designed with distant land in mind.
That's not all thou. The mod introduces minor gameplay tweaks as well: for instance, plants no longer act as containers, and you can pick them directly as in Oblivion or Skyrim. The everpresent light from dungeons are gone, strength of light sources has been increased and only the parts of dungeons that have light sources aren't pitch black (and most of them do.)
Basically: Install Morrowind and grab the mod, it's worth it!

edit: Just for the comparison: The original.
