lackoo1111: Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days will use Steamworks

I was affraid of that (not that I care at all about Kane and Lynch), Eidos is now following their new master (Square Enix) policy and use Steam for their games... pretty sad... looks like I will probably be playing Deus Ex 3 on console after all :-(
I haven't read the entire topic but I feel like saying this:
I am glad New Vegas is using Steamworks over GFWL or SecuROM. I will still be buying a retail version though because I like having boxes and discs of games I own, plus it's cheaper. That's the only thing I don't like about Steam, the price of some games are too high.

And whats the box's worth if you must register it to Steam?
None I would say.

Some? Coming from Ireland I would assume you find all their prices high, especially compared to retail.

1. Paper manual, much faster installation & whatever else it comes with.
2. Who cares what it's worth when it's cheaper than what it would be through Steam?

Good source of fiber!

Yeah, some games on STEAM are slightly cheaper than or the same as retail console games.

It's a fancy thing to store the disk in if I am ever in need of a re-install and don't have the game backed up :)

I dont mind steam so much, Impulse has become a horrible company, they sold out their fans and cant get respect from Publishers. But the killer is their stupid sales on stuff no one cares about, and how their sale prices are pretty much the same as retail price.
Simply Put, Impulse is a Joke now, and their staff are idiots.
Some good news about Fallout: New Vegas. The new version of the G.E.C.K will be available on launch day so expect mods within days. There was much rejoicing.

Er, how can I put this? Let's pick a recent example: Singularity. PC: £25, PS3: £40. Damn near half the price of the console version, and that's normal UK pricing structure. So no, nearly console price isn't cheap. Isn't cheap at all. Many UK online retailers like Play ship to Ireland, I'd look into that instead. Play ships to Ireland with free P&P as well.

It's sad really. They used to have AMAZING sales. I remember picking up things like Space Rangers 2 Complete for only 0.99.
Oh well, Stardock's own games are still amazing. I can't wait for the final version of Elemental, and the eventual release of GalCiv3. :D Most of my 3rd party games are probably going to come from GOG and Steam.

I remember those sales, they were really good once but between Publishers slapping them around left and right and their Psychotic Staff, its just a hassle to deal with them if you'd even want to.
I might have to look into elemental, but I thought Demigod was a bad, bad game which put me off from stardock games but I did enjoy GalCiv 2 and Sins of a Solar Empire

Well... if you want to get technical Demigod was developed by Gas Powered Games, Sins was made by Ironclad, and only the GalCiv series, the political/corporate machine (And soon to be Elemental) were actually developed by Stardock. They just published all of the above.
With that in mind, I actually think Elemental is going to be worth it. I've never been disappointed by Stardock's 4x games. But if you don't want/need the special edition, or to be part of the beta. I'd wait for it to actually come out, or at least closer to release.

I know about Play, but with their tremendously slow post (at least, from most purchases with them), I shall be buying New Vegas in a shop.

If you want the CE then you will have to pre-order it. I know for a fact Gamestop and Xtravision will only be stocking the regular versions.
