That's great! I love Steam, and I have had no problems with GFWL.

pieman: Yes for we all know *gamers all ways steal games they say there not going to buy or has drm they dislike*.
Just like we know everyone who tells others *there just going to steal it anyway are the biggest thieves there selfs*
See how this works out. By just rushing to judge others you get things like this.
calling someone who enters your store. After finding the item they want. they wait in line to buy said item.calling them a thief is a great way to make sure they never come back.
Some of us who have never pirated a game in there life and have paid for everything there own are tire of being called thieves.
So by paying for your game i am a thief. If that how you feel i can live with out your game and take my money ease where. Were i will not be treated like a thief for buying there item.

Honestly, just ignoring and down voting the obvious trolls is the way to go.
I don't mind this. My PC probably wouldn't be able to run this very well, anyway. I'm just hoping the ps3 version has less bugs than FO3 did.

Since you're "Anonymous", and it's not displayed as such, I'm only going to assume that you're not from a country where English is the primary language and so forgive your post for being rife with grammatical errors and misspellings. But just a little tip, "here" refers to a point in space and time, and "their" refers to a person's or group's ownership of something, and "they're" is a combination of the words "they are".
Also, why shouldn't you be treated as a thief? It's statistically favourable that you will steal the game rather than pay for it. I end up "being punished" for it, and so do you.

I got a much better idea.
Lets lock everyone up in jail and throw away the key.
I mean there all just a big pile of thieves or soon to be thieves.May as well save everyone time and money by just locking them up now.
Remember game demos? I for one sure do remember them.
Could download one of a game you were thinking about buying.
To try it out to see if its worth your money.
Now a days no game demos. I have to go by the word of reviewers and others who have play the game.
Sometimes one can not get a feeling if a game is for them with out playing it for there self.
With no game demos to try out that leaves them with risking 50-60 bucks on buying their game they may dislike or saved that 50-60 bucks for something they may need more then a game.
Lets say i when to the same shoe shop for 10 years. got all my shoes form there.
I when to the check out line, waited my turn. Then the worker there out of the blue calls me a thief after i have paid them the cash for the shoes.
Pissing off your buyers by treating them like thieves is not the way to go.
Rewarding buyers that have paid for you game, like a discount on the next item you buy.
Is a much better way of keeping a buyer happy and if a buyer likes their item they may very well buy more form them on the count of being treated like a paying buyer and not a thief.
if i buy a item and they make it hard for me to use it like giving me a manual in a language i can't read .then add checking up on me every 5 months to make sure the car i got form their store has not been stolen..odds are you just piss off one of your buyers.. i don't think i will be buying form them any time soon.
Pieman, don't bother. It's a lost cause trying to make a point with this guy.
- don't want to buy the game due to DRM? You must be a thief. Never mind the fact that if you're going to steal the game, DRM is no concern whatsoever.
- since he doesn't have a real argument, he does what most typically do in this situation and resorts to 'grammar policing' your post.
He's obviously not interested in engaging in actual discussion.
It's pretty much like reading one of Andrew Schlafly's posts from Conservapedia, only you're a dirty pirate instead of a evul librul.

Seeing how we are all dirty pirates. Does that mean we get free hats and flags with a skull on them.

Only if you plunder them yourself, of course.

Or force someone to make them.

Delixe: Fallout 3 used both SecuROM and GFWL. All they have really done is swap one DRM for another. It can still be played offline as long as Steam can dial home every now and then. I guess we should expect more games to use Steam and to be honest it's not the worst DRM out there. I can live with it, unlike UBIDRM.

same here, Steam has great deals, great games and a nice community. You can play games offline and it's not that intrusive at all.
Who hates steam to death probably never tried it anyway.
It's not GOG but it's still an awesome platform, what makes it worth it are the forums for each games, friend lists, steam cloud for your save games, achievements, automatic updates for the installed games, in-game overlay with istant messaging, voice chat and browser...

I'm more worried about the game sucking as bad as F3 than using Steam.

While I don't hate Steam, I've tried it and don't care for it.

From my point of view, Steam offers me nothing I need. I already frequent a couple of awesome forums, so don't need that, I built my rig with plenty of storage space, so don't need cloud saves, don't care about achievements, have no need for friends lists or any of the other social functionality of the site, don't want instant messaging or voice chat while I'm playing (why would I want to be interrupted during my game?) as I don't play multiplayer games. As for the automatic updates: go ask a few of the Dragon Age Steam players how they feel about that. Patch 1.03 seriously screwed up some player's games and it was released months ago. No way to roll back with Steam.
Anyway, as I said, I don't hate Steam. It's just not the platform for me and I don't have any desire to use it. Just thought I'd post a different perspective so maybe you can understand that people may have reasons for not wanting to use it other than just blind hatred.

Amen. Although if you want to play Darkspawn Chronicles/Return to Ostagar or Awakening you also cannot roll back the patch -_-

bansama: it's probably the least intrusive and least frustrating DRM system.
That is, until you live somewhere where they don't want you playing their games. Then it's one of the most God awful DRM systems going.

There a lot of JRPGs and other Japanese games that never get released in the west.
Anyway, PC gaming is virtually nonexistant in Japan.
