Recently I'm experiencing issues with anything that even requires graphical acceleration. Flash and more importantly my games are running slowly. It started yesterday actually, and I haven't changed anything on the partition prior to that.

I'm running an intel hd 3000, AMD 7670m hybrid. All the drivers are up to date. After noticing the slow down, I updated my computer, cleared out system cache, defragged, scanned the computer for viruses and I have not been able to come up with any solution up to this point.

The only software I have installed is ccleaner, Steam, Games, Firefox + flash and malwarebytes

I ran two virus scans, one from within the windows partition using malwarebytes, and one within a linux partition using clamtk with updated definitions.

I'm not a windows guru by any means, spending most of my time using linux. Does anyone have any experience diagnosing issues like these?

The computer under linux runs normally.

The computer when it's running flash stays at 2% cpu usage, and nothing is hogging up systems resources from what I can tell.

Is the computer running in High Performance mode? Check Power Options in the control panel and make sure it is not in power saver mode.
Another thing could be the processor or graphics card's fan and heatsink have accumulated a lot of dust, which makes the processor run hotter, and thus it will start running slower to keep itself cool. If it's a desktop it's a lot easier to crack it open (while powered off of course) and clean the fan off with some good compressed air.
I noticed you mentioned your linux is running fine, but does linux have the speedstep instructions to slow down the processor when things get hot, and do you have the games in linux that will stress a CPU/graphics card.
If you have a temp sensor program running, you could check the temps and see how hot it's running.

I've try to cover as much as possible on my post, but even then small details get by.

I have tried playing around with the power settings, and I'm well versed in using them often. All of them are now having the same issue.

The computer is clean

Due to the linux community not having proper hybrid graphics support, my testing is limited to the intel card, and it seems to run fine with regards to flash and even playing left 4 dead 2. Something windows currently cannot even do properly when running on power saving.

I don't know about speedstep though.

I don't use the hybrid graphics myself. I would think it would be very troublesome, so I turn off the onboard graphics if possible.

If this is a desktop you could try to run just on the onboard stuff, and eliminate or prove the graphics card as the problem.

Temperatures at load? How long have you had them? And are they clean of dust?

Well I thought I found the fix, which was literally just reinstalling the amd driver. That did work initially, but now after having restarted my computer I'm back on the same issue.

It's a notebook? i suggest checking the insides, to see if there is something there, maybe a pile of dust.
Heck i had a bug (as in an insect one) once inside my computer case.
But might be your graphic card is failing or something else, you did do most of the software parts you can do to check.

After you reinstalled your amd driver did you update it again? else it might just be a new version that gives you the troubles.

It was the same driver that was working for 2-3 weeks prior to this issue.

I just cleaned out the computer a few moments ago, so I'll see if that's the issue in a little bit.

I strongly doubt it's a virus though.

In the nineties they once killed a harddrive of my dad's pc. They can do alot of harm.
And it's probably unlikely but better to rule anything out, also avg and avira are free if you dont want to pay for it.

Okay, well you convinced me and apparently I had a bitcoin miner on my computer. I have no idea how that happened, because I literally only go to gog and steam when I'm using windows.

In fact, it found that just on a quick scan. 2 of them, so I'm definitely going to do a full scan now.

Can you somehow check the output of your videocard, how much MHz the GPU and memory are running?

I assume it has worm like properties because I do not deviate from visiting gog or steam while on windows, and I have adblock even. I also don't use yahoo, but gmail and Google news.

I do have a family member that uses yahoo on a different computer though.
