hedwards: LOL, this is a thread about the US Presidential election, if people don't care, why are they in here?
I gravitated to the drinking part.

EDIT: Nah, I do care.

HampsterStyle: On a positive note, It's kind of flattering that the partisanship of American politics transcends vast oceans. :)

Telika: There's always a slight "presidency of the world" aspect to it, rendered a bit weird by the fact that only a small portion of the planet votes for him.
Knowing how important it is globally and how the internet (especially over the last decade) has increased the visibility of our political process, makes me really wish we were better at it. This probably stems from my military days when it was instilled upon a service member to always be on their best behavior in the presence of foreign lands or people and to always view yourself as an Ambassador. Because of this I get a little embarrassed at times. :)

Licurg: 57. An american explains the election to a bunch of non-americans that don't really care.

I care about who gets elected in Canada as well, I just don't usually follow the vote. Unless I'm mistaken Canada is the US' largest trading partner and is right next door.
There is never an excuse needed for a night of drinking when politics are involved. Just chug the whole bottle down

I like how this reads as if you're not sure if Canada is right next to the US. :P

You are pretty inconspicuous up there, hiding behind your strange round bacon.

There's a truth to that. But that's precisely no reason for embarrassment. The americans I've known have more represented their country, to me, than their country (or its leader) has represented them. If this makes sense.
Anybody else gonna watch the Stewart/Colbert coverage?

The coverage by my national TV station is pretty boring, so I hope I'm gonna get some entertainment out of those two.

Both Todd "legitimate rape" Akin and Richard "rape is a gift from god" Mourdock have been defeated.

Fuck 'em and good riddance.

CNN HAS JUST CALLED THE ELECTION!

OBAMA WINS RE-ELECTION!
yeah he got Ohio so even if Romney get's Florida, Virgina, and the other remaining states he will only have 261 electoral votes and you need 270 to win
