mondo84: My pleasure! Sorry that I did get a bit lazy with updating that list, but I did record the times for each deal (some lucky guesswork with the alarm :p).

IAmSinistar: Nae worries, I've very grateful to you for doing this! And like you, I noticed the upwardly trending discounts. Will indeed be interesting to see if the pattern holds.
Good morning,

My guess would be more along the lines of them trying to keep all the prices in around the same value (~$2, give or take) so it's just a function of newer games being more expensive that is resulting in this ... but who knows. Spelunky for 95% off?! (speaking of which, I just gave up another hour of my life to that game last night... so frustrating! But damn doesn't it have that 'just one more...' feeling in spades).

mondo84: Happy upcoming birthday!
Thanks, there is still some time though..

That's a good point, and quite possibly the case. I did post at the start of this that the total cost (< $65) for every game works out to slightly more than $2, so that does indeed seem to be the logic behind the reductions.

I'd like to see Rogue Legacy as one of the newer items in this sale, that sucker is pretty damn addictive. Finally beat it and immediately started on the "plus" run.
On the announcement page it says "available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!)", so I guess we won't see Spelunky with a 90% discount.

I feel a bit conflicted about games like Rogue Legacy. I would love to play them, but they have a Linux version that is not available on GoG and I spend more time on Linux those days.
I'm not one to guess, usually ... but what about Thief ($9.99 on sale for 75% off, maybe) for 1998? I didn't get it during the Insomnia Sale, and I'd be very tempted today if that was the case.

Balder's Gate for 1999?

All the games we've seen so far are listed towards the top of the "bestseller" list in their respective genres...
Carmageddon was up for exactly [1:30].
15:38 GMT: 1998: Rayman Forever -75% $1.49
@10:39am (EDT):
[1998] Rayman Forever - 75% off - $1.49

EDIT: (a game listed as being released in 1999, I might add...)

The 1st game in the sale I actually had on my wishlist HOWEVER I'm not a big platformer fan because most of them involve busting your ass for hours, die, start over from square 1. I threw enough controllers at the wall going through that with Ninja Gaiden.

So, what is the save/continue situation like with this classic?
Rayman had their levels grouped in areas, and if I remember properly you can save after each area, so you won't have to restart from square one. And you can always farm lives or use a cheat code.

Edit: to be complete, if you die, you return to the start of the current level or the lastest checkpoint, if you have reached any. You start with 3 lives, but you can find more lives and get new lives for every 100 'things'. You also have 10 continues from start, but it's easy to avoid using them. All in all, it was very forgiving.

By the way, the first Rayman was released on 1995 according to Wikipedia (and I remember playing a lot earlier than 1999). 1999 must be the year of the Forever edition.

How come that Rayman is 1998 game? It was released in 1995, and the enhanced version in 1999...

Uncanny! Thanks again. And now Rayman is up, the first game that I may actually buy from this sale (not counting ones I missed during sleep).

Well they seem to be fudging the dates a lot. I think Rayman was released on different platforms at different times and there were various editions so... I guess one of them might have been released in 1998. Maybe.

Because the only relevant Rayman games were released in 1998: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayman#Games
The only thing that I've noticed is that we had no games from the Insomnia sale which would be featured here. Right?
