mondo84: M&M 6-pack running for exactly 2:30 so far.
Thanks, I was going to ask for a time check. That's really the pack leader so far, and a great showing for an old game that has been in a bargain situation many times before.

EDIT: And that means the purchases have only added about another 90 minutes to it so far. So not all that terrible. Just feels long. :)

Actually, I'd call that a bad harbinger. Don't get me wrong, I'm a *huge* M&M fan, but if this game added this much time to the promo, what are some of the *really* popular games going to do? Deus Ex on promo for a week? Could happen!!

Neglecting the unknown numbers of up-/downvotes, 90 min extra would translate to 1800 copies sold. Not bad!

So do we know for sure that purchases add to the time on sale?

From the official promo release:

"Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale."

+3 seconds.

The good thing about this format, compared to the Insomnia sale, is the GOOD games stay on sale longer, instead of the bad games. The setup of this sale shows GOG really learned from the mistakes of the Imsomnia sale (as fun as an experience it was, with the togetherness of the community, it was gruesome as well at times, er, at Keane).

I guess. Honestly, I would rather watch a counter count down, rather than an clock countdown keep gaining time ad infinitum.

The only two mistakes that GOG made in the Insomnia sale were having game appear several times instead of just all in one pack and putting on ridiculously unpopular games in the sale list.

The Insomnia sale got boring after a while, but the beginning of it was *much* more exciting than this sale. This one moves *way* too slowly IMHO and has the ability to go on forever, which, I fear, will be tested eventually.
M&M 6-pack was up for [3:22]
Lots of people buying at the last moment. That's the psychology of the sale at work: under stress people make more impulsive decisions and buy more easily (that's why IKEA feels so crowded, it's deliberate that it's hard to navigate the store).

I timed the last 3 minutes and 20 seconds of the promo, just for the heck of it. It lasted just over 7 minutes...
Space Quest? Never heard of it before. Is it any good?
Space Quest is going fast.....not sure if want.
